Straight into episode 105 and Tora is hella stressed. He’s smoking around Poppy. And she called him out on patronising her, I gave a whoop of pride to Poppy for that. I know he knows the clan worlds and she doesn’t (obviously), but the fact he listened to her and didn’t fight back - like I’m sure she expected as I imagine gaslighting prick, potato boy did a lot - must have been both a relief and frightening for Poppy. She’s not got to follow this line of thinking into what is very uncomfortable and honestly, traumatising, territory - body disposal. Girls getting in deep now. She didn’t think he’d be *this* explicit. But then it’s Tora, he’s spent all this time up until now hiding the truth from her and trying to save his own arse with how much shit he was in by hiding said truth. I guess now, why hold back? He’s like a dam that’s been breached. Or he could just be not reading the ‘room’ correctly and oversharing cause he’s a plonker. I’ll take either, haha! “...kidding.” about snuffing the living daylights out of chin hairs…or is he? When is *that* conversation going to come up between them? I.e, just *what* Tora’s role in mafia life is…definitely in no rush for that to come out. Tora is turning away from her, I’d guess he’s both annoyed chin hairs slipped past him knowing he had some chances to snuff the living daylights out of him, or ashamed that he’s thought about it or at least this tainted part of his life he doesn’t want Poppy to see. Either way the mood between them is very strained and uncomfortable and he’s withdrawing more and more. Is he doing that first so it won’t hurt as much when - IF - Poppy does it to him? Man my heart hurts for these two. Ah I bet Patty has had a field day with this episode breaking down his behaviour! But I can’t help but feel like he’s projecting when he asks if she’s just trying to do the right thing, be a good citizen. He’s been trying to do the right thing - in some not successful and slightly dented ways - since he met her. His heart wants to be in the right place. But he doesn’t think he's deserving and it's shredding him apart to try considering he was brought up and trained to do and be the opposite. So yes, that tore me apart a little. So did his brush off of going to bed. He’s hurting, so he’s not necessarily intentionally hurting her, but it is all the same. It’s a minefield of emotions between them. And a lot to unpack. “Quincey’s therapist says I can’t save everyone, sweetheart. And I *absolutely* agree.” OK, gotta take a moment to highlight he called her sweetheart while he said that, trying to lessen the impact, but he also stomped out that cigarette butt rather harshly, belying his words. But also, little foreshadowing to future events? Is Tora going to have to choose between who to save and who to lose? I don’t think I’m reaching here either. That moment had an impact for a reason so I’m tucking that away for later! Aw Poppy, you can’t save Tora either! You can support his efforts, but not do it for him. God these two will make me grey, haha. WTF is that smoke coming off him?? I got whiplash trying to keep up with their chat and then I went back when she pointed it out and was like, whaaa? And then his reflexes just took over and my heart was racing, and it is re reading it again and holy shit, how is he so chill about this entity there too? Not that any of that scares me, but he’s just so, ‘huh, weird’ about it and I bloody love him for it but also want to shake him and ask, ‘what do you see? What do you know?’. That was a mad rush of emotions from me in a very short space of time, haha. “Sup dawg.” Oh Poppy you crack me up! Poor Tora is going to have nightmares seeing her in Jacobs get up. But what have I missed about the maids get up? I need to see that missed moment between them as he threw that into the compromise. The scarlet blush from Poppy was like a beacon. And Tora almost crashes with his own fantasies - I mean, I get it; Poppy looks hot in it. But I need to know how this came about. I’m a little surprised she agreed to it, even in private. So I need more background. Also, I do love to see Tora blushing. It’s such a win. The plot thickens!! And damn near gives me heart palpitations, haha.
