A random AF disclaimer / PSA

Hey y’all <3 I wanted to share some stuff I've been worrying about recently. Not directed at anyone or any comment in particular - just me being a worrywart and feeling obligated to give my random annual PSA (pretty sure I've given a similar one before but my memory is shot, oy vey). If you’re not in the mood for being nagged at by me today, feel free to skip lol.


PSA to whoever's reading:


Y’all know that MPL is a mafia romance, and the story will take (and has taken) several dark turns that require suspension of disbelief, and the firm discernment of fiction vs reality; and none of these depictions should ever be applauded or glorified IRL. Mafia aside. If the plot calls for it, characters will sometimes behave or react in irrational, unhealthy, and toxic ways - most of which do not reflect my personal views and opinions. I try my best to depict healthy relationships whenever I can, but MPL isn't written with that in mind, and shouldn’t be seen as a relationship-guidebook (of sorts); neither should characters be treated as "healthy role models" (at least not always). Sometimes I just wanna write stuff that makes my heart skip a beat, but happen to be NOT OKAY AT ALL, IRL (ie. sometimes I just wanna write trashy, toxic shit. I’m sorry guys, lol). It bears reminding that if you encounter these behaviours or situations with romantic partners in real life - please be discerning and RUN if you need to.


Lastly, I know some of these actions and situations might be hard to stomach for those who’ve been in traumatic, abusive relationships. So I’d like to give my apologies in advance for any triggering material y’all might encounter 🙏
