Hey tex! Save your voice. Been a while since I've commented on one of these. Glad you're feeling better. You got me into ss14 over the course of the dump, been having a blast in cargo so far, hoping to be a QM some day. In the meantime, I can't wait for next year.

Auxilia

wait I thought you said the battlemaster was overrated in one of the tex talks episode?

Ryan Ulick

Tex please feel better! Best wishes! Happy whatever everyone celebrates!

Hi Tex, Please save voice. Good to hear you were feeling better, because I don't think we've ever heard you that rough in the last couple of years. Very much enjoying the Christmas Dump. Couldn't make it to the not-meth-for-kids livestream, unfortunately, but I'll be sure to watch it and pitch in after the fact. Looks like the raised total is up to nearly 43k now, which is amazing. Thanks for getting this all organized - I know you thank the community for making it happen, but these things need someone to get things started, and for people to rally around, and you've done an amazing job at it; so again: thank you. Also, even if you might be working, and the days may be dark: Merry Christmas from across the pond. Here's to the return of the lighter days.

Erdanya

Hiya, Tex. Glad you’re on the mend. Yes, give that drink recipe a try if you’re still feeling funky…or if it’s been a long day in the sound recording booth and your voice is shot. Not else for this week aside from wishing you and the crew a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years.

Hi Tex. Thank you and team, for giving the internet quality entertainment in 2024. I'm looking forward til next year, to see what you and the team, have in pipeline for us. I wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, to all people on patreon.

Good day, Mr. Tex, here to give testament to the difficulties of "practicing what you preach". Specifically, yelling at people on the internet about what they should or should not do. After repeatedly joining this chorus to beg you to rest and recover, last weekend I became seriously unwell. And, yeah, I see your argument now. Switching topics, I shared your Poetry videos to groups of friends who would never normally encounter the BPL and this production team's work. Fantastic responses, especially the piece from Dickenson. Great work, to you and your team. If you are still accepting poems to enjoy, I recommend the classic Sonnet 130 from William Shakespeare. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and pass the ammunition.

Steve Constant, 'Splash Mountain'

It is good a advice, you are giving Mr. Tex. I hope you don't mind, I will use that quote, in future.

Nearly Visible

Tex, best wishes and the happiest of holidays to you and yours. May you feel better and rested, and I hope the season brings your friends and family to you for a time of enjoyment. (Save your voice here) Thank you for everything that you and the gang have done to bring us some fantastic videos this year and I look forward to many more top-quality videos next year. I would like to thank you for something you mentioned awhile back about pursuing your passions. While my day job may not bring me the greatest of joys, I have found enjoyment and satisfaction in restoring old, broken, non-functional model locomotives. I'd include a photo to show the boneyard I've amassed (and repaired) but no worries. Suffice it to say, I'm proud to be able to return these locomotives to life for others to add to their collections, and passing on the joy they bring. It may not save the world, but it brings a smile to my face, and hopefully to those who acquire what I repair. Thank you for encouraging us all to follow our passions. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and the Happiest of New Years. Oh...and Hail Cargonia!

MarauderTDL

Glad you are feeling better!

Remember Tex that your voice is, among many things a tool, and a craftman always takes cares of his tools. On to the question: you talked about many a fine FASA product over the years beyond our beloved BT, such as Crimson Skies but have you played Renegade Legion or its attendant TTRPG Legionnaire? From the banks of the Selintan, raise your strong hand and praise Pelor!!!!

Also, glad to hear you are feeling better.

Hey Tex, thank you for following my suggestion for "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost. When I made the suggestion, I was a bit tempted to also offer some kind of direction you should follow in your reading, but ultimately I decided to trust your judgement on it. The poem in my view has such a deep (and frankly obvious to most readers) subtext of exhaustion, especially in the last two lines. You captured it perfectly. Thank you for your work.

RavenCarver

Good to hear you’re at least not moving mountains with your voice anymore. Frankly that’d be a fun Skyrim mod…. Thank you and the BPL for all your hard work!

FindingHemo

Hello Mr. Tex, Save your voice, please. You are probably still recovering a bit. First, glad to hear you are on the mend. I did enjoy having the rest of the BPL gang read the questions though. Might be fun to have them do that again every once in a while (minus the sick Mr. Tex part). Even better if they all answer the questions with their best Tex impressions. Mike, like the rest of the BPL team, is immensely talented, and I cant wait to see what he does going forward. Yall make the internet fun again. Please send your whole cohort our appreciation. Okay, back to catching up on Xenonauts and the Dump. Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal.

Sgt CRAB

Oh dear. That’s horrible! Now it’s stuck in my head. 🤣🫡

Merry Christmas Tex. You can choose to read the following or not but I wanted another's input. Re: the drones on the East Coast. It makes sense that they're US drones and that's why there's no response to them. (them following FAA guidelines is a giveaway). So that, along with conflicting government statements and a closed congressional briefing, means it's likely a confidential operation. Next question is why; a friend who worked in the Pentagon once told me 'The government only admits to an embarrassment to cover-up a bigger embarrassment'. Not totally relevant but good to keep in mind as far as motivations go. Drones are flying low and at night, a military drone manufacturer argued that means they're sniffing for things rather than gathering visual data. He also mentioned a missing Ukrainian nuke on US soil. Given the history of lost nukes and their recovery ops during the Cold War this hypothesis isn't as far fetched as we would all like it to be. (think of the panic if the gov confirmed this) Worst case, the two places I wouldn't want to be this year is NY city this Christmas/Eve and the Inauguration. The only issue I'm blind to is what would happen after. Given the field of nuclear forensics (thank you Dr. Niemeyer) we could find out where the nuke came from but the fingering of who did it would be more complex. All I know is that the people I would least suspect would be the Russians. Again, Merry Christmas Tex.

Hey Tex, (voice reminder) Glad to hear you are better, make sure you rest up, Christmas Dump is the finest shitposting I have seen in years and the poetry is great even though I'm an uncultured Galoot. Meanwhile the players in my RPG campaign have been through the grinder, imprisoned on Turtle Bay by the ISF. "Rescued" by the Smoke Jaguars until they revealed they are disgra mercs. Rescued a second time by the Yakuza busting Horiro out of jail, watched Edo suddenly turning into light and heat, and then crawling back to their unit only to be sent to the picturesque planet of Twycross, where they are about to go through the Power Play scenario (p22) from The Battle for Twycross Scenario pack from 1990.

[Save voice] Howdy there Tex, long time listener, first time writer. Glad to hear you sounding better; wishing you and the team the best. The Xmas dump has been great. So I'm about to GM my first game of Delta Green. My group just wrapped up a game of Imperium Maledictum (I finally got to be a player in a 40k rpg for once), and we couldn't seem to figure out the next game we wanted to run. I've had this one bouncing around in my head while watching the recent Xenonauts playthrough, and its going to be set in 1947, kicking off with the Kenneth Arnold UFO sighting. As soon as "1940s alien invasion" came up as a prompt suddenly the whole group jumped on it, and now I get to plan out the details over my Xmas vacation. Reading up on the stock setting and it certainly looks like there are hooks to work with. I've GM'd plenty of other games, mostly Dark Heresy and its offshoots, but also a bit of the FFG Star Wars/Genesys line. Read and played far more TTRPGs, but for some reason I tend to mostly run 40k games, so branching out is a bit weird. Any suggestions or advice on how to set the tone? Anyway, keep up the good fight, get rest as you can, don't lose heart.

Kommissar

Glad to hear you're on the mend Tex. Feel free to save voice for the following nonsense. --- On the Battlemaster: It'll always hold a special place in my heart for being my first encounter with Assault Mechs in Battletech/Mechwarrior with the 1989 Dynamix 'Mechwarrior' game. Once I discovered that different planets had different prices for mechs it didn't take long before the Blazing Aces had 12 of the things. === On AirWolf: This is stupid, but while listening to a particularly well-done modern remix of the theme it had me thinking up possibilities for a reboot/reimagining of the project in a hypothetical post Ukraine-Russia war timeline... The setting, Ukraine in this timeline has 'won' but at a cost. Both nations have lost territory but neither had gained any (not counting 're-gains') instead there's now a demilitarized zone between the two that both nominally claim. Russia is of course using this zone to sneak-in provocateurs who range anywhere from dedicated FSB agents to greedy scumbags whose goals suite the Russian State. Rumors arise of a 'special asset' the Russians are using both to assist these infiltrations as well as disrupt Ukrainian attempts at enhancing stability and winning hearts-and-minds in the DMZ, the 'Special Asset' is codenamed 'Air Wolf' and our show's new protagonists start out finding where it's based and infiltrating same in order to steal it. This 'Air Wolf' is a Kamov KA-52 modified with stolen Skunkworks technology and configured externally to look like it's been refitted for police-duties but then panels open and new things stick-out and it's more heavily armed than the full war-load military version. The soundstage mockup will of course have an Ernest Borgnine seat in the back. Further episodes will be thwarting recurring Russian officers commanding 'direct action' in the DMZ and/or attempting strategic buildups for bigger things mixed with 'villain-of-the-week' episodes doing cloak-and-dagger/gumshoe stuff to prove this week's asshole is a Russian asset before the Air Wolf get's brought-in to save the day. Action of course will be aplenty mostly centered on crazy helicopter stunts as in the original plus super-hacking/droneswarm bits from the Ernest Borgnine seat.

Nice to know you're feeling better. I've been trapped in a loop of bad things happening, anxiety, and a lack of sleep making said anxiety worse. I'd guess you know well how that all goes. The poetry readings have been 10/10. Give some props to whoever did the effects/editing for them, coming up with such fitting and unique visuals for each one could not have been a walk in the park. Merry X-mas.

Teyanis

I quite enjoyed the poetry, excellent work from the team on the visuals working together with the narration.

Chris Stochaj

i had head the GunCargo Christmas song, and it is indeed out there.

So, I was re-watching the Battletech 2018 Scrombles play through as I do while painting between the Christmas dump vids, and the question about what battle music would you ride in with blaring? and it finally came to me after several years. I know what my battle music would be as a merc. on a PA. I am sorry in advanced, Enjoy~ and merry seasons cheer from Colorado! (save the voice if you wish, maybe hum along.) "They threw my a-- in the cell, What I did I'll never tell I looked at you with a tell then we broke out and away traded my soul for some cash C bills and drinks for a chance- I wasn't looking for hell But now they're in my way Your jump jets were burnin' Hot metal, shrapnel flyin' Myomer strands a-wavin'- Where you think you're going, Cappy?! Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, But here's my lasers, and AC20 It's hard to aim right- At you, Cappy! But here's my lasers, and AC20 Wait, I just shot you! and you're still running! So have more lasers, and AC-20 And all the other scouts try to chase me They ammo crit me?! So eject mayb- *explodes* I'm sorry.... but also not. Battle tech Parody #786 and counting.... . Why is my brain like this xD

Hey TEX, (Please save your voice,) Recently I have been having fun developing new "missions" for my Local gaming group to do. One I have been working on is a Mech Race, and I am now curious, what would be your go to Race Mech?

Geeko170

Hey Tex! Please save your voice. Loving the poetry! Especially High Flight and In Flanders Fields! The Dump is the BEST I have seen it ever. Zenonauts was cool too. Sorry I died on ya in the game. LOL I think the Battlemaster is underrated too.. been playing it in mechwarrior 5 mercs and having a blast! I know you are working on the Black Knight For the next btech video. Is the Highlander the next one after that? And when will France finish taking over the world in ultimate admiral dreadnoughts? Feel better brother and Merry Christmas Cargonia!!!

[Save your voice if you wish] YAY! TEX RECOVERY! Yeah Sick Time is Upon Us. The Xmas Dump has been EXCELLENT, and the poetry has been good inspiration. I have finished finals [A/B Average! 1 Semester down, more to go!] Almost done with repainting my VZFSM Mech Company, the Armor will take a while, I've decided to rename the Battalion as "Van Zandt Cossacks" going for some snowy-forest camo [they are based out in those background mountains]. Making a grand amount of progress now that I am free from Grad School Finals Hell, having fun with the BTech campaign I'm in, and I've semi-resumed dog sitting. Glory to Z0RG, Meth 4 Charity, and Health to All, Take Care! HAPPY CRIMBUS! -Grimos, a Student of the Library+Information Sciences Profession

If the Van Zandt had a navy would it be held together with duck tap and chicken wire?

Have been loving the poetry readings and i have realized i have sorely underappreciated them over the years until i heard them read properly. Thank you for exposing me to that.
