2024-09-13 17:52:00 +0000 UTCPlease forgive me for getting a bit heavy and sentimental, but here goes somethin’. Me and my two best pals got hooked on Achewood early on in 2002. One of these friends, Mike Roeder, had to have been one of your best customers back in the day - pretty sure he had every cookbook and most shirts/prints that you released. The three of us had a grand time at your GOF book signing in Austin at the comic book shop. At one point Roeder had convinced his wife that he had quit smoking, when he certainly had not. He kept his Dude and Catastrophe hoodie in his car and always put in on when he was sneaking heaters, and somehow kept this going for at least a couple years going undetected. Mike died in an accident almost 7 years ago (not cigarette related), and not a day goes by without me missing my best friend. It’s almost impossible for me to visualize him not in that hoodie, and I’d really love to have one as a tribute.
