The sun was just beginning to rise when Mualani strolled along the beach, her footprints fading behind her. Suddenly, something caught her eye. A seashell, glowing softly like it was calling to her. Of course, she picked it up.
The moment her fingers brushed its surface, a shimmer ran down her body. Her feet began to glow and webbing bloomed between her toes. Mualani gasped, then she smiled. She knew exactly what was happening.
Without a second thought, she dove straight into the ocean. The water was cold and thrilling. But soon, her lungs began to burn. She couldn't hold her breath! Just when panic started to rise, Mualani felt something. Gentle openings on her torso, pulling in water and air alike.
"Gills!" She thought. "I could breathe underwater!"
Relief turned into wonder as she watched the rest of the transformation unfold. Her legs shimmered, fused, and lengthened into a beautiful tail that caught the sunrise like liquid gold.
Maybe magic shells really do grant wishes... if you're brave enough to touch them. 🐚✨

ムアラニが浜辺を散歩していた頃、ちょうど太陽が昇り始め、足跡は次第に消えていった。突然、何かが彼女の目に留まった。まるで彼女を呼んでいるかのように、柔らかく輝く貝殻だ。もちろん、彼女はそれを拾い上げた。
指先が貝殻の表面に触れた瞬間、彼女の体にきらめきが走った。足が光り始め、つま先の間に水かきができた。ムアラニは息を呑み、そして微笑んだ。何が起こっているのか、彼女ははっきりと理解していた。
何も考えずに、彼女は海へと飛び込んだ。水は冷たく、スリル満点だった。しかし、すぐに肺が焼けるように痛んだ。息を止めることができない！パニックがこみ上げてきたその時、ムアラニは何かを感じた。胴体に緩やかな隙間が開き、水と空気が同時に引き込まれた。
「えらだ！」彼女は思った。「水中で呼吸できる！」
その後の変化を見守るうちに、安堵は驚きへと変わった。彼女の脚はきらめき、融合し、そして長く伸びて美しい尾となり、まるで液体の金のように日の出を捉えました。
