Decisions like this in this society--and the subsequent "but the pay will be good" to go into an OVEN--is why I don't root for the humans.

I work in industrial environments and lock out/tag out procedures are a thing for a reason, but many times people don't, to save time or paperwork. More people need to hear these stories.
