The "sexy little baby" comment is from season 1. Jamie called himself one and we all laughed thinking it was a joke.

There will be a 4th season, it was announced earlier this year. I'm personally excited for more Ted Lasso, but i can not for the life of me figure out how they are going to start it based on the last episode.

Maybe. But you still didn't really need it. Would we all have thought that Ted confronting his mom would have come out of the blue and needed more foreshadowing and justification if we hadn't seen that text exchange?
Just because a scene is part of the chronological succession of events doesn't mean it was necessary to show it to move the plot along.

The text between Ted and his mom definitely served a purpose for the story. He felt obligated to invite her and she could tell he didn’t want to so she decided not to accept, then couldn’t help herself from letting him know she actually wishes she would’ve gone, which makes Ted feel guilty for shunning her knowing she would’ve really enjoyed it and he realizes she just made up an excuse for not wanting to go so as not to upset Ted more with her presence. That realization is what brings Ted to finally confront his mom.

Yeah I think what Joe was saying is that Rebecca really came in like a Deus Ex Machina with that money all of a sudden, making the drama of Keeley having to close KJPR because Jack left kind of pointless. "it turns out Rebecca's rich" more in the way of, why didn't Rebecca or the show think of that in the first place? It's just too easy of an out for the Keeley storyline and doesn't feel emotionally earned.

I don't really think it's a "European" thing but I definitely thought the closeness between Jamie and his mum was a lot more normal and less off-putting than Dottie's insistence of hugging every stranger she meets, which is definitely a very American / Southern thing and in 99% of cases would really not be appreciated in Britain ^^' also, Leanne Best is about 13 years older than Phil Dunster, so yeah, they're stretching a bit. But I do think the implication is meant to be that she was young when she had him.
I think the main reasons a lot of these scenes feel off is because of what you said, the weird pacing and unnatural structure of dragging all of these episodes out so much. There's so many lines of dialog in these episodes where my reaction is like "oookay... errr, was there a point here?". Like that small exchange between Rebecca and Ted about her private jet. Like, what purpose did that achieve? It just looks like sloppy editing, like just cut that scene out. And there are so many small things like that. At times, with how they dragged these last episodes out, this show almost reaches The Room levels of uncanny weirdness.
This episode was 69 minutes long, come ooon, not even premium drama series need to have episodes that length.

Woah, saying someone has a mental illness because they speak during something is unhinged. Yes, it can be annoying at times, but there are a lot of times when Maple and Ariana have been completely silent. There have been moments where I'm sitting here, thinking to myself, "Say someting" lol. And that's okay. That's the whole point of reaction channels. They are reacting in the moment. Also, you do not have to keep watching if it bothers you. But to throw around that someone has a mental illness just because they like to share stories, is not okay. Just unsubscribe if you think it's such an issue.

This is exactly how I felt about the last 3 episodes. When episode 10 aired, it felt like more of a penultimate episode than this one. It was truly baffling. There were rumors that when they were in the process of doing this season, a lot of things happened--particularly in Jason Sudeikis' personal life. Rumors of rewrites, location changes, etc. so I think that hurt this season a lot. I wouldn't have minded the longer episodes (or the backstory) if they had just made better use of them. I understand the importance of Jamie's storyline in this episode, however I felt the scene with him visiting his mom and stepdad went on way too long. In fact, I skip through it now because it's just dragged out. I was also upset we didn't see the conversation with Rebecca, Bex, and Ms. Kakes, though we do learn the fallout of it in the finale (although it's very brief). I will say, the finale more than makes up for episodes 10 and 11 being kind of boring. Also, anyone who didn't think Ted was going home in the end hasn't been paying attention. He was always going to go home. Heck, in episode 6, he went to an American themed restaurant that had his favorite BBQ sauce from back home. Not to mention, going to the museum and talking about the sunflowers painting. The signs were there. This story is a retelling of The Wizard of Oz. There are so many references throughout, and most recently, Brett Goldstein confirmed it to be true. Ted is Dorothy, Roy is Tin Man, Jamie is Scarecrow, and Rebecca is cowardly lion. They executed it so well. Can't wait to hear your thoughts once you've watched the finale!

What do you mean "it turns out Rebecca's rich?" We've known that from the beginning lol

LOVE the Big Fish reference - having seen this multiple times never made the connection but Ted's mom (and Ted very much so in a trickle-down effect) have big Edward Bloom energy

regardless of them the pacing is horrendous this season. who isnt going to get distracted when 20 minutes is stretched out to an hour and still we skim over actual interesting things

They had more money for this season so they made longer episodes. And yeah, they did drag out some parts then oddly skim right over other stuff. Like, there should have been a scene of Nate standing up to Rupert, instead of just "Nate quits" on the TV soccer news. Then the team comes and asks him to come back? Like, when did they decide to stop hating Nate? And Keeley's story got bungled too. What was the point of Jack? She seemed like a reasonable person until suddenly she wasn't, then she's gone. Then it turns out that Rebecca's rich and they didn't even need Jack.

It’s kind of nuts hearing someone complaining about the quality or pacing of an episode when they’ve spent the entire time ignoring the show. …. Maple starts a fucking story in the middle of Beards apology monologue. Seriously. That’s mental illness.

You guys may not know it but that was the real-life coach for Man City. He's sort of a famous (or infamous) fella. The short pep talk speech he gave to Ted at the end of the game was very "interesting" to say the least. Apple TV really used their big wallets to make this show happen. A lot of the clubs and storyline around the premiere league does mirror a lot of the real-life premiere league. If anything, Richmond AFC not being a real club is the one fake thing about the show in terms of football. Excellent reaction as always, can't wait for the finale!
