Ted Lasso 3x8 Watch Along

Ted Lasso 3x8 Watch Along

Comments

He literally tried to apologize in after the game and during the elevator.

Christopher Henderson

As far as the Public Service Announcement style of this episode, yeeeeaahhh, iCloud Photos needs to stop getting hacked.

Arson Stays Up Too Late Watching Video Tapes

both of your Ted Lasso episodes have been removed.. am I the only one?

Dave

Jack did nothing wrong 😑

Xavier Chandler

It’s just sad cause I get why you can hate Nate but the show gives pleanty of effort to show how he is trying to get better but the tiny bit of praise from Rupert draws him back in…the way they got on Nate for him being frustrated someone keeps saying his name wrong was over doing it. He immediately apologized once he looked up.

Keeley was one of my favorite characters the first two seasons. But I feel like they did her so dirty in this final season. Didn't give her much to do and when they did most of it sucked. Especially Jack she was a waste of a story line.

Casey

Yeah. I think they didn't really get Nate's "funny" message before deleting it to the message he thinks Rupert wants to hear. Nate got a kick out of them being at the game, but like you said, they were still giving their thoughts on Jack and missed out on some key parts of the Nate growth.

Sean Barbante

Yeah, Jack being a shitty person sorta came out of nowhere. And the Nate story is weird too. Are we supposed to be on his side? If he had apologized to Ted at least once, then maybe.

Joe Blankenship

I thought Roy worded his question weirdly, but surely his intention was to understand if it was his fault if the video was leaked? (Also, I sometimes drink a pint of milk.)

It’s hard to comment why this isn’t true without spoilers :/

Just throwing it out there. You guys were so uninterested in Nate’s story you kinda missed the first half of the scenes. That would help you understand his story. Then get mad at the fact you see him wrestling with trying to be the kind person he is and the person he thinks Rupert wants him to be. Hes clearly working on himself. But not there yet. You don’t have to like him as a character. There’s so much to hate. But you can’t deny that sometimes people pretend to be something they are not. Case in point worrying about keeley through the Nate scene of him growing as a person and jade helping him :/

I had no idea that the song Hey Jude was written by Paul McCartney for Julian Lennon until I saw this episode...

Jack was such a nothing character, she felt like just a personification of someone's gripes with toxic corporate culture and classic relationship red flags, and not an actual character. Just a worse version of the story they had already been telling with Rebecca and Rupert since S1 imo

John Cedar

The writers really did Keeley dirty in general in the third season. Her storylines were unquestionably the worst parts of the season, which sucks, given Keeley was always so great in seasons one and two.

Jeff K

Yeah that whole Keeley/Jack storyline reeks of "we wanted a queer romance but not like a serious one, it's just there to shut up the wokes". Including making Jack the unequivocal bad guy here just to get the relationship to end quickly and without compromising Keeley's character in any way. Also, I agree that I don't really see the point of the whole Michelle-Jacob plot, it's just so weird and awkward for no reason. Why is that there at all? What does it bring to the show or to Ted's character? It's not like we're actually interested in the characters of Michelle and Jacob. I feel like it's probably only there to somehow still involve Ted's family but I don't know why we need that. Yeah, make references to his son so we know he's still around and Ted is still in contact with him and maybe build up to the fact that Ted misses being around him but why do all of this? It gives "this storyline could have been an email". And I know I've been banging on this drum a lot this season but I think once again, this is one of the issues that comes from needlessly extending the run time. I don't get it, who made that decision and why? If they actually took a hard look at what they're making here and were given a mandate to cut all the episode to at most 40 minutes, I bet Michelle and Jacob wouldn't have made the cut. This is the third time I've watched this season and I couldn't do the whole Hey Jude thing again, they play the whole fucking song, that scene goes for 5 whole human minutes! What are you doing?? You could have cut that whole scene and not lost anything; case in point, I skipped it and didn't miss anything. It's kind of exhausting. You can watch an hour of Game of Thrones and it can feel like no time has passed, while with these later episodes of Ted Lasso, I really struggle getting through them at all.

Christophe

You guys aren't the only ones. I also didn't like Keeley's relationship with Jack. I know the show wrote it that way, but I think her storyline was poorly written in season 3. I put it on x2 speed whenever her scenes came up towards the end of season 3. With that being said that was my only gripe with an otherwise amazing heartwarming show
