2024-08-20 22:52:08 +0000 UTCIt's fun to know where this show is going and how y'all's opinions about certain characters is going to change in ways you wouldn't expect.

2024-08-15 03:51:12 +0000 UTCI think it'd helpful to print out a fairly large map of Westeros to just have around. I think it will become especially helpful when different factions of people are at different castles and going to war, etc.

2024-08-13 18:41:46 +0000 UTCNed took both girls because it's custom for noble children to be warded (fostered) by other noble houses (much like Ned and Robert in the Vale at the Eyrie with Jon Arryn which is how they are such close friends, and much like Petyr/Lord Baelish/Little Finger who was a ward of Catelyn's family, House Tully in the Riverlands at Riverrun which is how Cat and Little Finger are friends). In this case, because they were going to the royal court, it was an opportunity for Arya to interact with other noble children, learn the ways of the court, etc. PS. the way that Arianna's ND shows up in these reactions is relatable asf lmao

2024-08-13 14:37:17 +0000 UTCThe beauty of Game of Thrones is that, as most of the community says, "there are many to be hated" (or more hated than Walt). The reality is that each character looks out for their own interests. While some are more ruthless than others, it's very debatable since, as the plot progresses, the interests of each character become more apparent, and you begin to understand their motives. It's an excellent series to start watching, and I cant wait to see some reactions to the epic moments! Haha.

2024-08-13 11:34:39 +0000 UTCThe bits of PTSD in this episode are perfect, Robert trying to cope with his own rebellion by drinking and calling the people who faced him stupid, if only they hadn’t faced him. It’s their fault, not his, something so avoidable in his mind it’s laughable, all they had to do was not fight him. Jaimie getting all serious with him and telling Robert “burn them all” is just so good. Robert’s face just dropping at hearing that revelation, perfection. Then finishing it with Ned being happy he’s allowing his daughter to thrive while also remembering what that same training has brought on him and ending the episode with his auditory illusion of a battle clashing is just perfect.

2024-08-12 21:57:32 +0000 UTCJoffrey had mentioned instilling his Uncle Kevan into Winterfell, Lancel Lannister is Kevan Lannister’s son

2024-08-12 21:32:25 +0000 UTCBaelish telling Ned he knows where his wife is and then taking him to a whore house will never not be funny, it’s so hilarious that Ned thinks he’s calling his wife a whore and immediately starts to choke him out, no questions asked

2024-08-12 21:24:14 +0000 UTCKings landing is under Baratheon rule so it has their symbolism around but their ruling seat is in a castle called Storms End, just like The Starks rule Winterfell, the Baratheons rule Storms End, but also are the Royal line after Robert took the throne from the Targaryens, Danny and Viserys’ father the Mad King.

2024-08-12 07:48:11 +0000 UTCAriana being blurred is fucking with me. 😂🤣😅 my brain is going, "I wanna see" lol. I know Ariana said she read the first 2 books a long time ago. I did that too but forgot as she did. Now I have a few left to go and I'll have read them all 3 times. I would just caution u about remembering things and saying them to Maple. Maybe write them down so u can say them when they come true. Not complaining at all. Just a suggestion. We need more of this asap lol. Please send the unblurred version to my inbox 😂🤣😅.

2024-08-12 06:00:02 +0000 UTCDon't get it twisted tho. Jamie Lannister aka the King Slayer is one of the greatest fighters in history and is definitely top 4 warriors alive at this point.

2024-08-12 04:20:36 +0000 UTCYou guys are catching on super quick!! Here are a few tidbits that were touched on--NOT spoilers in any way. Yes, Sir Jorah Mormont is the son of the Night Watch Commander who lives at the Wall. He fled because he was an outlaw and now serves Daenerys 17 years ago, Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark led a rebellion which overthrew Aerys, the last Targaryen king, and then Robert took the Iron Throne for himself, During that rebellion, Jamie Lannister killed King Aerys-- that was Daenerys’ father; thus, he is called “kingslayer” Varis is like a spy master for the royal court (think of him as CIA director) Peter Balish (Littlefinger) is the master of coin, and a sneaky SOB. He once wanted to marry Catelyn, but she ended up marrying Ned Stark instead Each Lord has a special advisor called a “maester”—those are the dudes in the grey robes who wear long chains and serve as court counselors

2024-08-12 03:15:30 +0000 UTClove the reaction and your passion in getting into GOT. I bet you weren't thinking you would be taking notes (homework???) while watching a tv show. My 2 cents (per how I interpret some of the political/regional dynamics): the 7 kingdoms are like regions of the known land while within the 7 kingdoms there can be many houses (family name) (i.e. Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Tully, Baratheon etc...) I love the ending of this episode. Not many, if any, fathers would have gotten his daughter sword fighting lessons in that world.

2024-08-12 02:00:12 +0000 UTCThat’s good lol. I just got that impression when you started counting them, thinking there was one from each of the seven. Hopefully the rest of my last comment is still helpful regardless.
Tom McTernan
2024-08-12 00:55:34 +0000 UTCOh yeah we didn't think that lol they're kinda just part of the "kings table" his peeps. Sorry if we confused you!

2024-08-12 00:20:09 +0000 UTCNote on the end talk. I think you guys are under a misconception that the members of the King's council are each individual representatives of the 7 kingdoms. They're not. The members are just respected men appointed by the king to handle matters that the king delegates to them. Each member typically has a specialty and advises the king on relative matters. For example, there is a Master of Coin that handles the crown's finances and expenses, a Master of Ships that commands the navy, and a Master of Whispers who's the "tea master" and whose job it is to gather rumors and news and bring it to the King's attention or even spread rumors using their network of spies/"little birds". The official 7 kingdoms are: 1. The North 2. The Vale 3. The Riverlands (which include the Iron Islands as well as the Crownlands and are each sometimes counted as additional kingdoms) 4. The Rock/The Westerlands (where the Lannisters are from) 5. The Reach 6. The Stormlands (which is where the Baratheons are from and ruled before taking the throne from the Targs) and 7. Dorne. You guys are correct in that the continent across the sea is independent of this and thus why the Targs live in exile there now.
Tom McTernan
2024-08-11 23:57:08 +0000 UTC7 kingdoms are in the continent Westeros. passed the narrow sea is the continent Essos which they mentioned when we first saw Daeny
