2024-08-16 05:45:18 +0000 UTCVery close... but Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde were never actually married. They began dating in 2011, got engaged in 2013, had two kids between 2014 and 2016, and had very messy breakup in late 2020, with Wilde beginning a two year relationship with Harry Styles very shortly after she and Sudeikis broke up. Both Sudeikis and Wilde had previously been married to other people before they began dating each other, but they never actually got married to each other.

2024-08-14 06:18:38 +0000 UTCI honestly don't know what I'm enjoying more -- Watching this brilliant show or seeing how much joy it brings to the two of you. You may have gone through this, or may have looked this up or not. but a little Ted Lasso trivia: NBC owns the US broadcasting rights for Premier League football, and around 2013 they created an ad campaign consisting of a series of commercials covering the rise and fall of Ted Lasso, a Division II college football coach, as the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur FC, a real PL club. Jason Sudeikis, who had recently left Saturday Night Live was a co-creator of the ads, along with Brendan Hunt (Coach). They were quite successful and pretty hilarious. In 2015 Sudeikis' then-wife, Olivia Wilde, suggested that he re-visit the character in a series. The original character from the ads was a lot broader and simply represented a confident American ignorant of British culture and soccer in particular. Sudeikis at the time felt that culture and politics were splitting into binary cultures that could not communicate across the wall dividing them and decided to make the show about bridging that gap with kindness and sensitivity. Incidentally Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) was originally hired as a writer and editor, so when Roy's character was in development someone suggested he audition for it. Brilliant move! Juno Temple (Keely) starred in the most recent season of Fargo alongside Jon Hamm and Jennifer Jason Lee. Hannah Waddington (Rebecca) had a small part in GOT as Septa Unella in season 5. And I believe it is legally required that I suggest another recent show (4 seasons, 53 episodes) that is as uplifting and funny, in its unique way) as Ted Lasso. That show is The Good Place.

2024-08-13 03:30:09 +0000 UTCWithout giving anything specific away, I can confirm that yes, this show will most definitely make you cry eventually, numerous times. Especially in Season 2.

2024-08-12 02:26:43 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite lines is in the scene with Sassy. Ted says ...'I'll be your Underhills anytime' it is a reference to the movie 'Fletch' starring Chevy Chase. A movie you should put on your watch list at some point.

2024-08-11 22:25:02 +0000 UTCOh, and by the way: Bex is played by Keeley Hazell who - as you might be able to guess from her name - is who Keeley was partly inspired by. (Sudeikis dated her for awhile; they must have had an amicable split because she was eventually added to the writing staff.)
