Louis the Knight

G: Meet Louis, the sualokin who saw the very end of the Great Hunger and became the last and the youngest of the knights. 

His mother, Ladera, had a reputation of a local madwoman - she hung around other sualokin's houses, speaking nonsense, did not respect the Craft and, at the end of it all, tried to kill her own son. She had the strength to tear off his wing with her very own teeth and severely wound him with a knife, but Louis fiercely resisted and was able to escape to the city. The knights sent by the King to search for the mad tsourai never found her. It is still a mystery if she is alive or not, and where she can be.

However, this event kinda shaped Louis as a person and strongly influenced his whole fate. 

He isn't the friendliest person in the Flat. And even if he can act as cute as he looks sometimes, Louis has a tough and difficult personality. He is a loyal knight, but also super critical of those who (in his personal opinion, of course) don't fit the Cepheid role. And by these he means... well, almost anyone from the Cepheids circle. xD So Louis doesn't have too many friends among the knights but has some outside, among the local sualokin. 

In his free time, Louis is busy with his greenhouse, where he grows Tsourai poppies. These distant relatives of veglambs are extremely predatory and toothy, so they became rare guests on the sualokin tables and were mainly found in the wild depths of the Flat. But they can be easily crossed with other Tsourai plants to give birth to the delicious, amazing hybrids, so Louis's garden soon became an exotic, but dangerous gourmet zoo. He even sells tickets to his inner sanctum to those who are ready to exchange them for unusual seeds and seedlings.

Louis's hobby gave him some trouble - his last "pet", a huge poppy jellyfish, crossed with a sandscorpionic, was a reason for his eye trauma. It shot its seeds right in Louis's eye using a sharp sting, nestling in the eye socket like in a flower pot. With the help of special paper with the veve symbol on it, Louis keeps the seeds in a state of sleep so that they can't continue to grow and hurt his tsourai flesh.

Some of the sualokin say that Louis is the King's lover... Well, it's true :P
