TRAILER NEWS, NEW GAME MODES, FUNDING??

(this update is going to be quite unprofessional, mainly because i'm excited and don't feel like putting on my business hat to bring good news)

hello patrons! it's time for the weekly upd-.....oh....it's been....over a month. WELL IT'S NOT MY FAULT EVERYTHING I'VE WORKED ON HAS BEEN SPOILERS. (it is completely my fault). BUT I HAVE GOOD NEWS! GREAT NEWS IN FACT. HERE WE GOOOO.

FUNDING:

i hadn't talked about it much but i was essentially running myself into a pool of debt continuing to work on this game. i feel like this project is the best thing i've ever made and it's very important to me, everyone who has worked on it, and everyone waiting for it, so i was kind of just prepared to financially ruin my life in order to get it finished LOL. i could get a regular job (ew yuck), but this would mean i would only be working on the game part time, and it would probably take forever to finish. i need to work on stickfigurez full time in order to finish!

BUT as of today i am NO LONGER thousands of dollars in debt lmao, we truly love to see it. i've received some funding, and it is by no means an insane amount of money or anything, but it gets me out of debt and allows me to semi-comfortably finish stickfigurez pretty much stress free, and i was REALLYYY stressin' there for a bit so it feels great having that weight lifted.

the funds are not from a publishing company or any official brand or anything, so no extra hoops to jump through, and no one is stepping in to control the game. still just me and the team! i will not go further into details so don't ask lol.

SINGLEPLAYER CONTENT: THROWBACK MODE

while i continue to flesh out characters and stages, david is helping me develop a new game mode on the side called THROWBACK. this aims to REALLY make you feel like you're in an old school stickfight. stuck in a classic stickfight box, waves of enemies will constantly run towards you, and it's up to you to constantly move and attack, racking up combo points and kills to move to the next wave, which could include more sticks, mini bosses, and full characters to fight.

this SOUNDS pretty complicated, but overall the way we are implementing it is relatively simple, and will require very little work on my end to get up and running, so david can mostly work on this mode while i focus my attention elsewhere. which brings us to the final update!

TRAILER NEWS:

i am really hoping to have the trailer out in under 1 month. i have a specific date in mind for a very specific reason, but i won't give out those details yet in case i miss it, and because it'll be hype when it happens :)) my current plan is to show off the 4 announced characters, throwback mode, and various stages, while also announcing the 5th character in either that same trailer or their own (if it's their own, it would be pretty short). from there, i'll decide to make trailers for each character, or announce them all at once in 1 more trailer before release. MANY THINGS TO CONSIDER.

as for playtests, i'll most likely run one in the coming weeks, but again, it would be on the same build as before. i know you're tired of playing that build at this point, but while i work on pure spoilers there's really not much i can add to the playtest to change it up .-.

thank you all for supporting stickfigurez!!! LET'S GET THROUGH THIS LAST ARC OF DEVELOPMENT AND RELEASE THIS DAMN THING.
