Support for Analogue Pocket

I saw an announcement by Analogue today talking about Open FPGA... I wonder if this means that they're finally going to open the platform to community developers.

I was wondering if you would be interested in getting my cores working on the Pocket too. Supporting a new platform on JTFRAME takes some work, so I don't want to do anything that you, my patrons, won't like.

Should I port my cores to the Pocket (provided they open it)?

Comments

Thanks for all your work for the Pocket!

I have no problem with Analogue making its own cores closed/proprietary, but I'd rather see people develop cores for systems that are based around closed source, or else it encourages it. So if it takes time units away from a Mister core, I'd rather not see development time wasted on the pocket. If Analogue wants to profit from more cores on its system, then let them create it. No need to do their work for free.

I voted no, so you can concentrate on the MisterFPGA. When people start working on too many projects at the end nothing is finished or is not perfected. If you do anyway... please do it low prio...

Hello. Joined for pocket support, but also curious to learn more about Mister down the road.

I just joined, looking forward to Pocket support.

I just joined for analogue pocket support.

Joined for a year specifically for using pocket cores. Excited to see them.

I am on the wait-list for the pocket. It will be the first peice of tech I've gotten from them. I've always been interested, but this sthe first thing I saw that no one else was even trying to do.

I would love to get at least CPS1 and CPS2 support. I can understand if porting everything over would be too much but I think it would be a missed opportunity to not support the pocket. I'd doulbe my monthly support right now if both platforms were supported.

became a new supporter to encourage you to support the pocket!

Very happy to support this Patreon for a long time, but cancelled as don’t wish to support Analogue (indirectly). Apologies, but thank you.

I previously posted the opinion that “if it was easy do it but otherwise focus on Mister”. After seeing your thread on Twitter (https://twitter.com/topapate/status/1553072392737529857?s=21&t=ZM4Phg5ojfU8-o9NgOSL6Q ) and getting a better understanding of how you work I think you should do it. “I think adding support in JTFRAME for it may take a full week, provided they help.” A weeks work and many more people will get to enjoy what you do, and you may get more Pocket owners joining your Patreon as a result since they will now benefit from all ongoing core work.
