Statement about MiSTer
Added 2020-05-02 06:28:24 +0000 UTCAs some may know I had a misunderstanding with MiSTer main developer yesterday. We have already sorted it out. Sorgelig and I have met in person twice in the past and he's a great host. I am also thankful to the work he's done for the MiSTer platform. Thank you to the people who showed support yesterday and apologies for the drama.
Sorgelig and I still have a disagreement about how to handle source code, file distribution and other technical points but that is normal.
For cores that are mature, I will try to facilitate porting to the main MiSTer environment. Namely, Double Dragon games are very close to that stage. For cores I'm working on currently I'll keep using a fixed MiSTer framework version, for which I may accept external requests such as DB15 Snac, DB9, or TV sync support.
Thank you all for being there

Nothings beats some good old fashioned drama, this never seems to get old, compared to the FPGA scene drama, the emulation scene seems almost harmless ;) Both you and Sorgelig are doing great work, don't let different opinion on certain aspects of your both work block your view on this. You are both important for the great evolution of the FPGA scene during the last years. You both are working in the same field, sometimes even on the same hardware, but you both are looking at things from different positions. I think this explains why Sorgelig as a platform maintainer sees things different than you. This is fine, you both have good arguments for your positions. In the end of the day it's nice to read, that you sorted this out. Unnecessary drama is only entertaining for a brief period. So thank you both.

2020-05-03 20:22:04 +0000 UTCNot when doing things in a standardized way matters. Coding style, filesystem organization, etc are things that have to be standardized from the top down in order to avoid wild-west “cowboy coding” chaos for the end user. But for anything else, the person at the top should take feedback and suggestions and not shoot down good ideas.

2020-05-03 09:57:23 +0000 UTCI'm not heavily involved in this project or the "scene", but I try to financially support developers when I can. Every time I hear about someone wanting to do something and the idea being shut down by the one person, it does seem odd for an open source project.
