WIP 0601 - Shark Girl
Added 2018-11-11 04:08:05 +0000 UTCI started a new WIP to add to the log of WIPs here haha as I seemed to have spontaneously created a character concept I liked. But I'm hoping I can see this through! When I do illustrated pieces with backgrounds, my comfort is to go with lineless as I can just "cheat" out forms with the lasso tool and textured brushes.
NOT THIS TIME THOUGH. I'm gonna try doing an illustration this time focusing on lines, round stylized shapes and colors instead of light and texture (which was my go-to). This will be an experimental piece so I'm anticipating a bunch of stumbling around trying to get the look right. My problem right now is figuring out how to stylize sea foams and transparent water so that's going to be something.....TBH this is still incomplete as I'm still deciding what to fill the rest of the composition with ARGH. Maybe another monster?? Or some sort of structure??
I'll try taking inspiration from Sam Bosma and Steven Sugar who KILL it with their lined work and colors so hopefully they'll give me strength in finishing this.
