Tamral's Sacrifice

Captain Tamral knows a lost battle when he sees it coming.    A druid army of minotaurs and wild men approaches with intent to enslave or kill any resistance in their way. Molatin Post cannot be held, but the King's Talon Company will fight to the last to buy time for escaping civilians.  Tamral's fate lies beyond the battle as the druid has aspirations to add Tamral to his breeding pens.

Here's the first "official" story for June.  I had in my head to write a battle, and so that's what I did.  This story is another stab at something I've drifted near a few times in different hucow stories like "Siege of Berignon" and "Regency".  Invaders/evildoers enslaving/cursing the populace and turning them into breeders/pleasure hucows.  But, it provided a much needed mental dump as I burned off some excess on ludicrously broad world building.

My thoughts and how I was reading the Rathnoma POV at the end was that the new recruits hadn't been broken and with Rathnoma's death they'd be 'freed' and start slaughtering their captors independently having been converted into cattle already (just not virile ones). I was going to suggest a "18 months later" follow up where we follow twin sisters who were priestesses of the human god(s). Near identical twins with one a silver haired devotee of the Light trained from a young age to steal druid magic to shape men and women intending to heal and bring life and the other a raven haired devotee of the Shadows trained to be cunning and cruel and tap into the darker druidic magics that reform men into beasts and rob them of their humanity. Both sisters fled when the priesthood turn lecherous and attempted to rape them but they were saved by the god(s) and told to flee to aide a new Bull and its herd in a bargain with the Old God. [Sort of new god aligning with ancient god to take on old god]. The sisters arrive with a group of human refuges fleeing the druids in the new camp/outpost where the Bull and his herd have learned to shape stone and cleared a hilltop to live so that the druids offer no chance of attacking without exposure. [in my head Tamral retained his military training so instead of wooden walls and palisades stone ones are grown and trees hewn down]. Where the Bull had grown tall and strong (towering above a normal human) the other men rescued were still human sized; the humans who live among them are slowing morphing into the human sized cattle but men and women lack the size and virality of the Bull and his consorts. The sisters go to the stones / Bull to make their bargain their aide in changing the herd into larger more virile Minotaurs easily able to breed and birth an army to fight but at a price. The Bull/stone agree; the sisters start changing men/women into full Bulls and Cows; some of the more cruel and mean men are turned into Cows as punishment. In the end the sisters are rewarded with a change too instead of Cows change to Vulpine consorts of the Bull. [slender fox like buxom yet able to take the bull cock; their children destined to be daughters who would also be priestesses for other Bulls yet to be born] Forever priestess of their god(s) and shaped by their cunning and guile but meant to aide the Bull’s fight. Some part of me would have the Herd have taken the stone from the old fort and created their holy place of change at the center of their new camp from them (so they wouldn't fall into Human or Druid hands) as they were where the Herd was made.

My sketched idea for continuing would pick up the next chapter with Tamral leading a small rebellion with his cow ladies to liberate the former soliders of the King's Talon. At which point the stone god directs them to the place where the stones were cut, which happens to be dead center of the forest. Tamral begins a small guerilla war against the druids to buy time for Karsht to build its defenses. For the spicy stuff, they develop non-monogamous relationships in their herd. Battle fervor translates to sexual fervor. Stuff happens, there's more with Aster and the priests, who turn to their own transformations in a supernatural arms race, but naturally something is rotten in the priesthood. Ulterior motives and all that.

Loved the enemy of my enemy feel to the ending. Really could go for more of it. Really want to see the new Herd setup their own outpost around the stone as a new outpost between One Mother and humans. But most of your stories leave me wanting a "few months later" scene as they settle into a new normal. Or we find that like the druids the new god is willing to convert but people have to be willing to join the herd.
