Even accounting for pain throwing him off the tests after he broke his finger in the ball throw, there's several students in the class who don't have quirks which could be used to enhance the results of these types of tests, and Izuku's in incredible baseline physical shape.

The first meaning, which Bakugo uses, is that it's an abbreviation of the word "dekunobou", which means "someone who can't do anything" or "good for nothing". 2. The second meaning, which Uraraka uses (in Japanese, anyway; they changed it slightly in the dub so it'd make sense in English), is that it's an abbreviation of the word "dekiru", which means "I can do it". In Japanese, after she first tries to figure out Izuku's name (wrongly guessing that it's "Deku" before Izuku corrects her), she tells Deku that, "Deku gives off a feeling of 'I can do it.' I like the nickname."
