MonsterHunter5e and the new OGL 1.1 that is supposed to come out soon

I hope many of you are aware of the horrible situation WotC/Hasbro has put third party creators in due to the leak of the new OGL 1.1. It is expected to be released soon, though maybe it will be something different? I don't really know, but due to it I am more than likely not going to be able to continue creating this supplement for 5th edition or OneDnd. I honestly can't support WotC due to it even as a Player or DM.
Going forward
I am not 100% sure where the Monster Hunter supplement is going to go once OGL 1.1 is out. Paizo may come out with their own allowing me to move the game over to PF2e, or we have DMDave and his new Creator Original Open License (C.O.O.L), which might be "5e Compatible" (I still need to see the SRD for it). I may also have to go full "inspired by" and transition every stat block to a new name with different art and slightly different lore. I am not sure yet.

When the new OGL comes out, whatever position the supplement is in for 5e, is going to be the final version for 5th edition. Until then, I am going to keep chugging away with new content. It also means I can't update any additional information for the wycademy or other factions, but you will most likely be able to find those in whatever new PDF I create.

Ya it is rough, there is a rumor of the announcement happening at 3pm EST today. So we will see what happens. If you wanted more information on what is happening there is info on https://www.opendnd.games/ about it. I am happy to hear that I got some grumpy old timers back to the table for a while. Nothing makes me happier than hearing that anyone is playing the game because of something I made. PF2e seems to be the favored game people will move to based on polls I am seeing, but I will continue to release 5e content as long as I can.

2023-01-12 14:58:37 +0000 UTCI had missed all of this, cant say I'm surprised given that its Hasbro but this is the sort of thing that will see a lot of the community just move somewhere else. I remember when they opened the license up back in the day, it brought a lot of new life to an already healthy setting. I suspect if this OGL thing does happen it will kill a lot of interest in D20 period especially amongst the old timers. Either way Amellwind, cheers for the work you've put in over the years. It got some of my grumpy old timers back to the table, for a while at least.

I've always been content with my numbers because I rarely advertise and anyone who finds the patreon has always been awesome and kind. Even if the OGL doesn't change, I am going to try and separate myself from the SRD and OGL as best I can. It could maybe be a stand alone with a couple classes, but also still usable with 5e. I just don't know yet, but I hope to know soon.

I remember I opened your page one day and saw how much you make a month and I was so shocked becuase honestly I think you deserve at least 3 times that much with the amount of content you have spied for us. I'm praying for you and I hope I'll still be able to use your content and see new content from you.
