Crowdfunding an Audiobook

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about crowdfunding The Acolyte's Passion (The Knight of the Acolyte Book 1) into an audiobook.

Getting a project this large made the way I usually do things (royalty split) is difficult. Most voice actors like the short projects they can get done fast in case it doesn't sell well.

For me to pay for it out of pocket it would cost me about $2500.

How did I get this price, it's a 115,098 word novel (compared to the 15 to 20k on my collections). Audible estimates it would be 12.4 hours long. For a decent narrator, I would have to pay at a rate of $200/pph (per produced hour).

I have no idea if I could even come close to crowdfunding this project, but it's been percolating in my mind for a while. The Knight and the Acolyte is my best selling piece of fiction I've ever written. I'm rather proud of it. I started the world building back in 2012.
