Mikael is not taking money from this Patreon anymore

Right. Mika writing here, the 3rd person thing just for dramatic effect.

I've been struggling with making this decision and I think this will bring me peace and return me back to my focus of doing my best comics, so here goes:

***

The production of Small Trolls was staggered, and recently I have been having serious doubts of myself taking money from here. Because that's what this Patreon was for me; Small Trolls being a thing. I never needed it otherwise

Technically I've transformed the money initially meant to make Small Trolls, to be YIH money.

Obviously a lot of that money has been used to take care of sending you guys the rewards you deserve, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. And I WILL do my last round. I have to send you guys something as parting gifts.

***

Year In Hereafter never needed Patreon. I never wanted to make it a thing funded by you guys monthly. Book funding is a different thing entirely, but recently having the Indiegogo simultaneously with an active Patreon, has felt awful. It combats within me somehow and doesn't feel ok.

I feel disingenious (spelling?) sitting here trying to make YIH my Patreon-moneymaker when I had nothing else to give. But it isn't, was never meant to be, that's the reason I'm pulling out.

***

I've also had my mental health problems and personal life problems and honestly, the Patreon has been a big part of it. I feel bad making this decision, but I feel worse for the fact I made this decision so late.

I will still work on Small Trolls when we can work on it. However I don't want money for it.

Elli will receive 100% of the of the money you guys give and this Patreon will become hers.
Elli will receive the full proceeds from this month also.

If there's anything I can do for you guys, in case you feel like you've been let down, please let me know by any means. I will still continue  doing YIH normally. You can message me through here, or DM me at @yearinhereafter

Transforming this Patreon to Elli's will take a little bit, it will read that it's both of ours probably for a little bit, but that's just because we're both damn busy. :P

You're all brilliant,

- Mika

Sometimes you struggle with a decision, and when you finally take it, your heart feels light and you know is the right decision. Thanks for the journey, and may art remain the wind in your sails forever.

Good on you for making this decision, Mika. I can see how it would be stressful after a while to be tied to what was originally just a single collaboration project, especially as it seems like your art is a very personal thing to you. I hope you'll feel more at ease with it and with yourself this way. As someone who has really loved YIH since I first read it, you have my support.

im sorry it strained you so much. even tho you stop taking money from this patreon i will always support you.

Your mental health is very important to your fans. What you need to do for yourself is what matters. No bad feelings here at all. I love hearing from you and I love the rewards you send too. I have them all hanging on my dresser mirror. Thank you for always doing your best.

For sure! In no way is this a farewell, I just want to cut this income off from my personal side of things and lighten up the pressure. - Mika

It's sad to hear you leave - but your wellbeing goes surely first. I wish you to have a good time with YIH on other channels and a good time all together. You can always write me some DM on Twitter if you want to have a talk since I will continue to follow you there :)

Well, if you feel that it'll be less stressful for you this way, then it's a good decision. :) Cheers <3

Thank you! It does feel a lot better this way.
