Had they not become extinct, pseudosuchians could have probably evolved into forms that resemble outdated "retro" views of dinosaurs.

Here is Pseudospinosaurus - a speculative form which resembles our old view of Spinosaurus.

The origin of this idea came from the bipedal, generalist pseudosuchian Poposaurus.

I imagined a descendant of this species that was specialized for a fishing existence - much like the attenuated dromaeosaur Austroraptor.

It is clear to see certain morphotypes evolved again and again as animals adapted for similar niches - and perhaps my speculative Pseudospinosaurus is not even that fanciful. Pseudosuchians were extremely diverse in a way which we still do not truly understand. I wouldn't be surprised if an animal like this was actually discovered someday.
