879. Star Trek: The Next Futurama 97 - The Futurama Holiday Spectacular

If you forgot, this show takes a Futurama episode and thematically pairs it with an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which works surprisingly well.

This show exclusively releases every other episode here on the Small Beans patreon. Wimmy Wam Wam Wozzle!

Features:

That story Kahless tells about a man who stands in the storm has stuck with me my entire life. It resonates as a metaphor so hard. Sometime it feels important to stand in the storm. Sometimes it feels important to take shelter and understand the storm does not respect a fool. And everytime I choose either way I think of Kahless' nameless companion.

Been enjoying the simpsons Pod. It tickles the perfect part of my ADHD brain of interesting facts, funny jokes, and philosophy. And I do wish I was rich enough to pay you like the old timey patrons used to. So for now I will continue to be here at least. Hearing how the suits are being goofy is EXTREMELY on brand. Sidenote, you on cameo?

I just want to say I love you guys and wish I had more money to give you. My wife and I had a daughter about 2 years ago (just a little before Tom I think) and then we just had another at the end of March and, as strange as it is to say it, going through that and all the stress and uncertainty while listening to you guys doing the same thing and dealing with all that stuff has given me so much empathy for both of you. Especially since you (Mike and Tom but also everybody at the beans and GU) have given me so much laughter and just something to look forward to while working through the grind. No idea where this was going but I just really appreciate you guys. Hang in there.

I saw Man Bites Dog about 20 years ago. A friend of mine who was big into the Criterion Collection told me to watch it. Made me hate French films, and the CC. I’ve never watched another CC movie again.
