It's fun hearing a perspective from someone who listened to this one second after the GF II.
I'm very much in the crowd that not only preferred this one, but actually disliked the second one for the longest time. It felt like it added too much, and I much preferred the more raw instrumentation here. That said, I have more of an appreciation now for II since hearing your perspective.
Still, I will never grow tired of hearing this one. In a series full of bangers, this is a favorite for me, not only for music, but for the incredibly fun character it's centered around.
