'Anti FF' concept doodles
Added 2015-05-08 17:51:50 +0000 UTCI was going through my F:NM files to make things more organized and I ran across these. These are some of the earlier doodles of 'Prowler' and 'Princess'. I wanted to make them have strong visual parallels to the classic Freedom Fighter group while being their own individuals. With Prowler, I avoided giving him two tails because that's an unusual mutation I'd only want Tails to have. So instead I made his tail pronged to bring to mind the -idea- of two tails without actually having it. I changed the facial design from this point as well- originally he had cheek tufts just like Tails, but in later designs I changed it so he only had two cheek tufts and two tufts at the back of his head. When viewed from the front, this gives him the appearance of having four tufts. He's also intended to be a different kind of fox from Tails, with greyer/dingier colouring. Princess meanwhile is basically what you get if you combine new Archie Sally with the classic Ricky from Sonic 1. Her basic forms didn't change much in her final design, but her hair and outfit changed a lot- the outfit in particular being heavily based on one of the raider/slaver outfits from Fallout and less 'biker chick'. And no chains (but many more belts). I haven't completely figured out her colours, but she'd probably have more chocolate/caramel colours in comparison to Sally's redder/oranger colours.
