Can you all keep a secret? I've had some downtime on Halcyon while I'm waiting for some new assets from Frankengraphics (who's been busily preparing for the release of Project Blue, so I can't complain!). I don't like to sit idle, so I decided to see what I could accomplish in the meantime.
One of the things I wondered was whether I could quickly manage to take my Atari 2600 version of Anguna, keep the game logic and data, and rewrite all the IO, and have a simple-but-reasonably-fun adventure game for the NES in a short timespan.
The game's not finished yet (I'd say the engine/code is 90% done, and the level design is 75% done), but it's reasonably playable at this point, so you're welcome to give it a try. I just ask that you don't share news about this yet. I've been so public about Halcyon, that I decided it would be fun to have a game that I work on in secret, and just announce when it's finished.
I don't have a timeline for this -- there's probably only a couple more months of work to do, but I'm waiting on music (I've hired someone to compose), and if I get new Halcyon assets to work with, that will take priority. But it's moving fast!
I plan to add more enemies per room, and do a lot of balance tweaking, so the challenge might be off a bit right now. I'm sure there are LOTS of bugs, particularly as you get further into the game. Feel free to share them with me if you like, but I'm aware of a lot of the issues, so it's totally up to you if you feel like reporting problems or not.
Again, thanks for supporting me! If you have any questions, shoot them my way!
