Short Rest: Ep. 48: Escape From Fairy Mountain

Comments

Not if you play the Blood and Wine DLC. If I remember correctly, it's been awhile since I played, if you fuck both then there is a cutscene towards the end of the DLC where they both show up in lingerie, trick Geralt into getting tied up and then leave permanently. You end up spending the rest of your life with just Dandelion.

Nicholas hunn

It's so funny that Emily touched on an oligarchy of giants ruling the Feywild

Adam Kepper

Just a little late to the discussion, but you can definitely fuck both Triss and Yennefer and still end up with one of them with no repercussions.

Zach Jewell

Emily: There's no way they'd know it was us Moonshine: TELL THEM MOONSHINE SENT YOU!!!

Matthew

Ikr, maybe they were just over compensating from all they're previous misdeeds

Justin Murphy

I do not care at all about the pixies, funny that it weighs on them. They were almost killed by them. So glad they never returned to the feywild to avenge some one off pixies.

Alec Sandberg

Come back to savannah please, I will bring you all of the best margaritas in town, (jalapeños food is good but their bar sucks)

Zippo James

Am I the only one that was bothered that Emily kept calling the trolls giants, even though everyone else was calling them trolls? Idk why it irks me (obviously not a big deal at all)

Haley Amplo

Between Yennefer and Triss, I’d have to say Triss is the right choice. Murph and Emily, you did right by having sex with her, no matter your motivations.

Winterbat

At least Beverly understands that they created all this trouble themselves by picking on a smaller and weaker NPC and then when he didn't roll over and let them abuse him, got mad and decide to commit genocide against the fairies. I'm concerned that Moonshine and Hardwon don't see that they are completely responsible for this entire situation. I kind of feel for Beverly. Since they're kind of acting a bit like murder hobos, what kind of danger is there for their alignment? Could doing these things put Bev in opposition to Palor? Could he lose his paladin powers? I kind of hope that they learn something from this and stop bullying NPCs that aren't any threat to them but they merely find annoying.

meeemster

Gerelt is happier with Triss. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Leo Simoneaux

All the tris related plot arcs are insane.

Priyanka Patel

Emily is so well read and curious IRL and it's brilliant. Need book reccomendations from her 😂

Priyanka Patel

it is really fun all the players knowing DMurph will punish them later for the trolls

Chris Reisine

Caldwell giving the s/o to cookout made my day. I miss my time in the Carolinas because that place kept me alive on nights I typically don’t remember😂

Zachary LaRue

Circe is the one who turns men into animals

1man2hands

Easily, my favorite part was Pixel emerging and yelling out "Hey Dickheads!"

Jim Verbick

Lmao describing just randomly stopping watching Peaky Blinders was so accurate

Tristan

you fool, i have subscribed in your place

Yuval Talby

I’m canceling my subscription until it is fixed 💔

Whitney

Why are no episodes loading...

Whitney

Please just make a The Witcher podcast

Samuel E Hall

Oh my GOD! HEMP MILK SONG?!?!?! I was crying from so much laughter my coworkers thought I was crazy. I love in these short rests we get to see how crazy Emily's mind works. I applaud Murph on how pragmatic he has to be with a zany partner. Im in the same boat with my lady. Its those moments where you have to say "What? Did you hear what you just said?" and they look at you like "yeah, it makes sense to me" smh oh love.

Mark San Pedro

"The best leaders are reluctant" can't believe Emily predicted the GOT ending months in advance

tacticalgrandma

Please come to Atlanta!!

THERESA GINTHER

Caldwell is NOT wrong about Cook Out though. The tray is epic.

Leigh Bowser

The first two seasons are pretty nice, I especially liked the ending of season two but I only managed a two episodes of s3 because oh hell no.

Saru

Thanks for the freaky finders shoutout!

John C.

I'm a Savannah fan and so is one of my coworkers. We love the podcast

Lucian Walker

Perfect! Thanks!

Jaimie Brougham

I just started playing the Witcher and just got to the part when you reunite with Triss! Their discussion made me laugh so hard. I can’t believe I didn’t put it together that the Bear Prince’s ladies were named after Triss!! I Heart Band O’ Boobs!!!

John Duggan

I would watch that!!!!

John Duggan

Guuys, you should twitch stream you playing Witcher 3 and other games! OMG, I would watch you everytime!

Gabriel Araya Ortega

Absolutely come to Atlanta and eat Cook Out everyday

Tump

I would die for a Witcher III Twitch stream.

Dustin K

I actually think Caldwell is doing a pretty good job of showing gnomes to be at least neutral in the Trinyvale campaign so I think there's hope.

Katie

I think most people replying to this have a gross misunderstanding of what Libertarianism is. We don't believe that the government should go away, that would be anarchy. Libertarianism is very much about providing for yourself, contributing to society and not expecting hand outs. Its not about wanting lawlessness and no taxes. We just want everyone to be able to play to the beat of their own drum. We are about as open minded a group as you will be able to find these days, so instead of making sweeping generalizations, maybe understand that we want everyone to be able to live they way they want instead of society trying to force everyone to conform to whatever the new flavor of normal is.

Ben M

wow, you guys ripped on Libertarians pretty hard in ep48. That wasn't very chill.

Ben M

we finished the game and never won yennefer's heart back. we're hoping the expansion will give our fuckboi Geralt a second chance. -Moonshine

Beverly gets to re-roll ones for attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws because of the "halfling luck" trait, and Hardwon gets to re-roll ones for damage because of a fighter skill called "great weapon fighting"

Not Another D&D Podcast

I went to Abe's TWICE while I was there. Also, I bought an enamel pin of Cerberus from the SCAD gift shop -Emily

Not Another D&D Podcast

Caldwell, shoutout to Cook Out , it's literally the best late night fast food out there. That was my rose of this short rest.

Michael

I freaking love peaky blinders. Ace shout-out.

Euriel Adame Jr

Would absolutely listen to a separate Witcher Recap Podcast...

Jake

The detour talking about the witcher is my favourite part of this episode! I love that game! #teamyennifer

Caitlin W

Ok, so not on the attack, but on the damage? I was confused when he did Hardwon spin move to hit the faeries, got a 1 and Caldwell mentioned re-rolling 1s and it just dinked off a memory button in my brain, but it wasn't a clear one.

Jaimie Brougham

he can re-roll 1 for damage rolls

Mikii M

Am I wrong in remembering that Hardwon gets to re-roll on 1s? I thought that was a thing, but don't know how to confirm. Anyone know? Am I crazy?

Jaimie Brougham

COOKOUT!!!!

JBeev

San Diego would love you too!

Murphy Hitchcock

Yes! Please come to Savannah!

Taylor Roberts

I second this. I have mates who would deffo come with me to a Liverpool show.

Hrishi Venkatesh

Elliott, I get what you are saying, and you are fine to feel the way you do. However, it’s kind of a freedom of speech thing. Every joke has a butt, and this was only 2 really episodes.

Hrishi Venkatesh

Oh my god this is so juicy--as I was listening I was like "Man I wish I could see this look on my Dad's face while they rip this libertarian farmer to pieces" This isn't the same, but it'll do :D

Matthew Tyler Helm

But I thought you were all about free-speech? Why are you being so sensitive? It's just a joke.

Astrud Adler

Folks. I lived in Savannah for 4 years while I went to the art school there and I want to tell you Abe's on Lincoln is an actually good bar. Also, Foxy Loxy is a pretty good cafe.

Justin Harris

It's past time for you to shut the fuck up.

Elliott Scheirman

Literally use your libertarian super power to unsub or stop paying since it bothers you so much, you special snowflake.

Astrud Adler

Oh my god, you're still on this hill? Literally how fragile is your ego? Clearly you've never been the butt of any joke if something gets to you this badly.

Astrud Adler

I'm just going to say that you guys should absolutely come to Atlanta. I'd buy all of the tickets. Thanks.

Leigh Goss

a true “pearls before swine” situation

Gus Rachels

What a tragedy, this account was cut down before it had a chance to shine.

Not Another D&D Podcast

All I have done here is politely ask to stop being insulted and to reply to uncalled for rudeness. You are only demonstrating how unreasonable you are by implying that I'm doing something wrong.

Elliott Scheirman

This is a D&D campaign by 4 comedians that call themselves the Band of Boobs. That fact that you have taken anything they've said personally is unreal to me. You said it yourself, you're paying for extra content if you dont like it then dont pay for it and move on. Trying to passive aggressively complain until you get you way is a child way of doing things.

Penny Garbo

Oh, the tribulations of the oppressed libertarians....

Jackie

Dude, you're writing paragraphs over a character in a D&D campaign. Sounds like you're avoiding some needed self-reflection if you're fighting this so much.

Astrud Adler

Astrud, I have no way to block you here so I'm going to ask you to please stop replying. Literally nothing about what I believe involves stepping on others or taking credit for other people's work. This kind of ignorant bullshit is exactly why I don't appreciate it being perpetuated in this show. You somehow think straight up lying about other people is a legitimate use of your time. Please, just stop already.

Elliott Scheirman

No, no, that makes so much sense. Step on everyone else and take credit for other people's work and knowledge so you can capitalize off of it. No wonder he's so sensitive lmao

Astrud Adler

Mitchell, I'm going to ignore the unnecessary pettiness of Astrud and respond to you. What part about an ideology based on respect for other people's consent conflicts in your mind with the idea of getting educated in order to earn more money? I am baffled by the question.

Elliott Scheirman

This person is definitely actually Pixel. Handed everything on a silver platter and takes credit for it. Lacking self-awareness omfg 🤣🤣

Astrud Adler

Don't you have an MBA in a capitalist company? Doesn't that sorta directly contradict Libertarian ideals?

Mitchell Benkic

Lol still lacking self-awareness but okay.

Astrud Adler

I made a simple request to stop insulting an entire political group of their fans. You clearly don't understand why being the butt of a joke is insulting and that's okay. I don't know you. I was just speaking up on behalf of myself and anyone else listening who didn't appreciate the inaccurate generalizations or mockery. I am not policing anything by making a simple request. You are reaching with the accusation of calling me a hypocrite. I will not be responding to anything else here so feel free to have the last word if that makes you feel better.

Elliott Scheirman

You're making it personal. It's one character. If anything, you're lacking some serious self-awareness here. You're complaining about being policed when you're policing the gang. Sounds a bit hypocritical, but okay. If it bothers you so much, stop listening to the podcast.

Astrud Adler

I was complaining about being made the subject of a joke. If you can't understand why someone wouldn't like being insulted by someone you are making a choice to give money, then I don't know what to tell you.

Elliott Scheirman

Agreed.

Andrew Duff

Maybe you're just being too sensitive? They're hardly being mean or insulting

Astrud Adler

We'll try to get around to it at some point, but for now we've got our hands full with the main campaign!

Not Another D&D Podcast

Mentioned this last ep, but my best friend from college works for a local marketing agency in Savannah and Jalapenos is one of their clients. Last summer they gave him the keys to their Twitter account, and he tweeted four times before they decided it was "too much," pulled the plug, and the account hasn't tweeted since. Enjoy https://twitter.com/jalapenosav

Gus Rachels

Hey, what if you stopped insulting your libertarian fans? That would be great.

Elliott Scheirman

Also another thought on the civil war. The seelie and unseelie, in my mind, represent lawful neutral and chaotic neutral, respectivally. The seelie try and control the chaos of the feywilds, and the unseelie embrace the chaos. But neither are good not evil. Both are extremely selfish and self serving. The Noble Eladrin, both seelie and unseelie, are very close to god-hood, and will do almost anything to assert their power. For the summer court that happens in a very high-elf kind of way, where tricks and hospitality often lead to servitude. The unseelie are a little more direct, but neither are out there trying to take over the world or anything like that. They simply want to show off their power and have everyone around them view them as gods.

Zach K

I always imagined the Fae as being above our mortal concepts of "good" and "evil" like how Cran elaborated in the episode, so Murph's description of them doesn't clash with my established mindset of the fae as mercurial, changeable, obsessive, and mysterious in their motivations and whims. BUT the gnome thing is so funny and different than the gnomes in most settings i've DM'd or played-having them straight-up be chaotic amoral little shits 90% of the time is pretty amusing and out there. I think it's because gnomes are hard to differentiate from halflings and elves- so why not make them pure mischief-makers?

Eric Burant

I totally understand and love how this is Murph's homebrew campaign world, and that is totally awesome and he can decide what he wants to change from the Core lore...but...he is totally going to make Jake think that Gnomes and Fae are just super assholes. lol. Again, I love it and I love his take on them, and I would love to hear a different campaign where Jake is being DM'd by someone else, see's a bunch of normal Gnome tinkerers who are just a part of society like everyone else, and then goes on a murder hobo killing spree.

Matthew Atkins

COME TO ATLANTA!!

Mikii M

Well, if the army of Green and White Knights doesn't work out, you have an army of trolls to lead into battle...

Zach K

That 7 min conversation about the witcher was unusual. I've never played and was completely lost.

Andrew Duff

I'm definitely a Peak Freak! Though I too only saw like one and a half seasons... I don't think they made any more than that.

Josnak

GUYS! COME TO LIVERPOOL IN THE UK! ME AND MY FRIEND WILL BUY TICKETS AND WATCH YOU PLAY DnD! I dunno how much you would have to pay, but surely you could put it on the company card as an expense?

Connor Proudfoot

Is there not going to be a short rest for TRI-TRI-TRINYVALE?

Connor Proudfoot

The urge to listen to the short rest before the episode comes out is strong!!

Sir Carl
