I have a flat colour later, then I add a new layer to do highlights (general bright spots etc) - THEN, for that leather shine, I add another layer to do the extra white reflecting parts.

2024-11-21 23:21:16 +0000 UTCI tend to colour the leather a dark/medium grey, then use lighter tones on a screen layer to bring out the hi-lights, add a little blur to them, and give them a bit of a blending by hand! I then just add some darker tones as shadow to get that contrast!
