Oh I'm wondering how you guys feel about me watching stuff here on Patreon that isn't available for streaming? The issue isn't ME getting a copy to watch (I can usually find one), the issue is people being able to find a copy to do Full Length watchalongs. Let me know what you think!

*Regarding Email Notifications: I know it can be annoying to be emailed every single time I post something. You can change your email notifications on the left hand panel in 'Settings' under 'Email Notifications' (desktop)
*Regarding Name in Credits: If you're on a credits tier it can take up to a week to see your name in the credits (though usually within a few days). This is because I sometimes work ahead to get videos ready to post before they go live. If you do not see your name after 1 week please message me and I will make sure to add it. Credits will be listed as your name shows on Patreon. If you don't want your name in credits please message me and I'll remove you from list.
*Spoilers: PLEASE no spoilers in comments or in direct messages to me. No "hints" or trying to lead me in the right direction or asking if I want to know something. The point of these reactions is for me to discover things as I go and to be surprised. Thank you, I appreciate it!
*Replies to Messages/Comments: Across all platforms I now get hundreds of comments and messages every single day. I do my best to return messages but please do not be offended if I do not reply or if replies take a while. Many larger channels hire people to help them answer messages or reply to comments. I read all comments and messages myself, even if I don't have time to reply. If you leave a comment or message please know I received it and I appreciate it.
*Apple Users: Apple has now added an additional charge for Patreon (ugh). This extra charge ONLY applies if you subscribe to a creator on an apple device. Make sure that if you're signing up for myself or another creator's Patreon that you use a different device other than Apple so you don't get charged extra! You can still access content on Apple device after signing up on different device.

No wistful Emmy-winning goodbyes, farewells or amens here, and if you know Altman, you know why thatโs not necessarily a bad thing. ๐ Robert Duvallโs Maj. Burns will be a bit of a shock to TV fans, but we at least get to see the origin of how Maj. Houlihan got the nickname of โHot Lipsโ.

I do recommend, if you ever decide to watch the show, either find a version without the laugh track, or buy the dvd box set and use english 2 audio channel. The show was intended to not have a laugh track, but the broadcasts of the show had one added in. I believe personally that no laugh track is needed, the comedy lands without one.

2025-04-02 05:32:23 +0000 UTCThere are parts of MASH that I feel havenโt aged well, but only parts. The anti-war message still resonates. As. someone here already mentioned the TV series strikes a fairly different tone than the movie. But for me it has aged better. And it gets especially good after it starts taking its anti-war messaging a bit more seriously. If Iโm not mistaken there was at least one episode that was much more dramatic than comedic that won awards. I would love to see you react to the series, when you can squeeze it in given the several other series you are already watching, that is.

2025-04-02 04:14:10 +0000 UTCI don't know if you've seen the MASH TV show, but be aware that a lot of people are shocked by how different the movie is in tone and style from the series. It's sloppier, wilder, meaner and less sentimental than the series, but it's also one of the most important comedies in Hollywood history, since its exuberantly vulgar, slobs-vs-snobs style of humor changed how comedies were made in Hollywood (for example, it was the very first mainstream Hollywood studio production in which characters said the word "fuck"), and you wouldn't have Animal House, Caddyshack, or the Police Academy movies without MASH breaking the mold.

Most people here are probably fairly internet savvy and there are enough *cough* less then legal options out there *cough* that folks can get there hands on a copy.

Might I suggest The Expanse as a good one to do that with? It's probably one of the best science fiction shows ever made, and people will get a membership to watch you watch it. I've subbed to folks for that show.

Recently added award winning animated sci-fi / dark comedy series 'Invader Zim'. And also the incredibly awesome and stylish samurai time-travelling action/drama series 'Samurai Jack'. And Bond-esque 2024 series 'The Day of the Jackal', this isn't animated. Superb cat and mouse spy/assassin drama action.

2025-04-01 22:58:11 +0000 UTCYes! MORRRRTAL KOOOMBAAAT! Saw this in the theaters when I was a senior in high school and I loved it. One of the songs in the soundtrack, Zero Signal by Fear Factory, pushed me further into death, industrial and extreme metal. ๐ค๐ Also, as cheesy as the movie is, it's still much better than the awful sequel and the recent attempt at a reboot movie. Yes, even just Christopher Lambert as Raiden is better than the whole recent MK movie.
