You should definitely check out the sequel. I think it's funnier. It's dumb, of course, but truly enjoyable.

Tony Rogers

Yes, there was a sequel. Yes, being born in '70 I was the demographic. No, I really don't remember it. But, I remember the original. Nuff' said.

Ortizmo

Gee, I wonder if Budweiser paid any money to have their beer featured in this movie…

JOEDATOR

Everything you need to know about the 70s is that there were two movies about the Cannonball Run before “The Cannonball Run” (1981)

JOEDATOR

I honesty wouldn't recommend watching the sequel, as it's more or less the same movie over again, minus Roger Moore. The first isn't a great movie, but a lot of fun. The second is a classic case of 'Well, that was a surprise hit, so let' s crank another out:. And there's a third, which I've never wanted to watch.

Stephen Wadsworth

Could you please watch gumball rally? I saw it in the theater when I was nine years old. Actually I would like for you to cool hand luke before anything but gumball rally would be cool.

"I'm terribly sorry, Mother, but you know too much. You see, in my business, even the deepest family relationships aren't worth a farthing." 🔫 😅

Jason Scade

I think she would love it even if she doesn't know a lot of the stars. That would be a good one to have a live chat with so we can fill her in 💯

John Armbruster

A Mad Mad Mad World would like a word 😉

John Armbruster

There is also a similar movie titled "Cannonball" from 1976; I agree, though, that "The Gumball Rally" is easily the better one.

Mycenaeus .

There is a Canonball 2. I seem to recall it wasn't as good. Not that this one was a stellar movie. As a kid I saw it a million times because it was all over cable TV when we first got cable. Not sure I watched the second movie more than once.

TigerMyth

I would tell you to add It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World to your list but it might be a bit old. Same concept but much older. It probably has one of the most insane casts ever. It absolutely has the most insane casts for a comedy. If you were a comic and you weren't in the movie, you fired your agent.

TigerMyth

Similar, but still the original and by far the best. "Whats behind me doesn't matter!"

John Armbruster

A similar movie to this you might like is The Gumball Rally (1976).

Scott Bergstrom

So this was a first of movies that was more famous for its stars than its story. It’s loosely based on an actual illegal race… I saw it In The theater! A Burt Reynolds movie I think you’d love is Hooper! There’s nothing Like the Life of a Hollywood Stuntman!
