πŸ“… This Week Jan 28-Feb 2 2025

This week we're watching (of course) more Sein and Trek! Also checking out THE GREY because I had a really good time watching The Edge recently, and FALLING DOWN which is one of the highest requested (#9) on my MOVIE REQUEST SITE and I have no idea what it is (no spoilers) - never even heard of it - and I'm just so curious to see what it is!

Guyssss I went to see a LOTR (#3) concert last week with my Dad, stepmom, and sister and it was soooo amazing!! (see pics above) There was a huge orchestra and a huge choir ♫♬β™ͺ They played the entire movie with just dialogue and sound effects and the music was all LIVE! It was the coolest thing I've ever seen!!

THANK YOU for being here! Sometimes I look back to before I started this channel and I never used to look forward to each week the way I do now. I am so grateful to be here with you, watching cool stuff every week! You guys are THE BEST and I couldn't do this without you! β™‘β™‘

Hope everyone has a great week! β™‘β™‘β™‘

xoxo

Also check out Collections tab to see things sorted by genre, decade and series!

*Regarding Email Notifications: I know it can be annoying to be emailed every single time I post something. You can change your email notifications on the left hand panel in 'Settings' under 'Email Notifications' (desktop)

*Regarding Name in Credits: If you're on a credits tier it can take up to a week to see your name in the credits (though usually within a few days). This is because I sometimes work ahead to get videos ready to post before they go live. If you do not see your name after 1 week please message me and I will make sure to add it. Credits will be listed as your name shows on Patreon. If you don't want your name in credits please message me and I'll remove you from list.

*Spoilers: PLEASE no spoilers in comments or in direct messages to me. No "hints" or trying to lead me in the right direction or asking if I want to know something. The point of these reactions is for me to discover things as I go and to be surprised. Thank you, I appreciate it!

*Replies to Messages/Comments: Across all platforms I now get hundreds of comments and messages every single day. I do my best to return messages but please do not be offended if I do not reply or if replies take a while. Many larger channels hire people to help them answer messages or reply to comments. I read all comments and messages myself, even if I don't have time to reply. If you leave a comment or message please know I received it and I appreciate it.

My words exactly 🩷

Joe M

Please, tell Tara that we miss her on her channel! I would LOVE to see her back in front of the camera, again! Would LOVE more movies with both of you, too! A sister reaction is always awesome... you get to see how alike you are, but at the same time, how different and unique you are!

fire12wife

Inconceivable!

Mike Fox

Falling down. Can't wait to see your reaction to that. Now comes the wait to see if she recognizes Robert Duvall.

Glenn Galloway

Wow! That's so cool! That's my sister's favorite movie of all time! As teenagers, we would get home from school and watch the soap opera Santa Barbara... which had a very young Robin Wright, who played Kelly Capwell!

fire12wife

πŸ‘πŸ‘

Jason Scade

Very much looking forward to watching Face of the enemy with you Jen! Ohh and Falling down!

Brett Whittaker

I need to rewatch it again. Falling down is all those things, but I think I tend to focus on the early half more than the back half, the hilarity of the outrage was so tinted by the rest that I didn't know how to really take it.

Mike Fox

All of these make for a rather heavy week. I'm a Ghost in the Darkness fan myself.

Mike Fox

Gonna be an overcast kinda week, no pun intended. Gonna need Seinfeld and Trek to provide the sunlight.

Mike Fox

Really? Douglas liked that role best? Wow... I never would have guessed

Mike Fox

Seconded!

Mike Fox

I can see that. But on rewatch this movie is a heck of a lot deeper and darker. A PhD candidate could write their dissertation on it.

Mike Fox

I convinced my HS Senior Year sociology professor to show the movie to our class. Most of them hadn't seen it and we had a good time talking about it afterwards. I still don't know how I managed to do that

Mike Fox

We saw something like that with The Princess Bride. Carey Elwes was on hand after to talk about the movie, share stories, and take questions. It was a very fun evening.

Mike Fox

OoooOOooOoh, the Back to the Future movies would be great too!

fire12wife

That sounds so cool! I've not seen any of the LOTR movies, yet, but what an incredible way to watch a movie! My whole family and I are singers, musicians, or both! We'd love to see something like that! I wonder if they do anything like that with Star Wars movies!?!?

fire12wife

Hey Jen. I absolutely can’t wait to hear your over thoughts on Falling Down. This is one that definitely needs to be talked about afterwards. I really want your honest prospective on this movie.

Joe M

the grey has an extra scene after the credits. please don't miss it.

zynjams

I saw a similar show with my Dad! Only this was twenty years ago during the run of the LOTR films, or shortly after lol. I remember it being pretty awesome, though I don't think they really showed the movies. Just did the orchestral suites and what not.

Astraeos

I love the boots you're wearing in the picture Jen!

Jeff H

Cool boots are made for walkin....

Celeste McAllister

Oh brutal. Kinda makes me not want to watch it lol

Jen M

and boots!

Scaredy-cat

It’s a movie that, like Fight Club or Idiocracy, its cult fans mistakenly take a little MORE subjectively seriously than was intended. Which is never a good thing. When it was released, I remember audiences and critics laughing Douglas’ histrionics off the screen, to the point that Warner started selling it as a β€œpayback” comedy in the ads.

Eric Janssen

Jen, some reactors have gotten so much hate for the way they reacted to Falling Down that they had to take down all the videos. Be very careful how the youtube edit is done- You are entitled to any opinion about the morality of things characters do, but people don't always like to hear them if they differ from their own.

SnabbKassa

I'm not. Reactors have had a lot of trouble with that movie, not because of copyright, but because it's so political, morally grey, and people get very angry about the issues it raises, inflation being LEAST controversial. I advise anyone against watching it "in public" so to speak. The youtube edit gets seen by far more people, including people who don't even subscribe on youtube, so the youtube edit needs to be done VERY carefully.

SnabbKassa

It's so cool you were able to go to that LOTR concert! I hope we will be seeing you react to the Hobbit trilogy here soon! And for all of those reading this - for some reason the last 2 Hobbit movies weren't on Jen's list at www.jenmurrayxo.com. Please go there and upvote all 3 movies in the trilogy!

Mastervodo

The Grey is pretty good. Since you’re on animal attacks right now, I’d also recommend Crawl.

DrJonasVenture

Nice pic of family. I saw The Grey in the theater when released. Been a while since I've seen Falling Down. Face of the Enemy is one of my favorite episodes of S6. I am finding that I very much look forward to DS9 episodes, as I expected I would.

Clay F

I would have preferred a Traffic (2000)/Falling Down double feature.

Clay F

What lovely peopleπŸ’œ I love those boots Jenny! 'Falling Down' q:"How Did I become the bad-guy?"....

Celeste McAllister

I'm pretty hyped for you to experience Falling Down.

Christian Rennie

πŸ˜‚

Jason Scade

Jen has legs!

Alecco

Movie, music, family... if you're going to have the effrontery to spend time on non-channel stuff, it doesn't get much more justified than that. :-) I'm glad you yourself are enjoying this channel, and I am very much looking forward to Falling Down.

Happy Hanukkah

Those shows with live orchestras are amazing. I saw Amadeus like that and I was flabbergasted

Yann LalibertΓ©

Very happy you enjoyed the live show so much. :D Excellent line-up. Falling Down is the director's best work. Michael Douglas has said he thinks it is his best role. D-Fens! D-Fens! D-Fens!

Jason Scade

Ooh... The Grey. Great counterpart to The Edge. Looking forward to that. Falling Down will be great as well. Curious to see your reaction. 😳 Congrats on the LOTR concert. I'll bet that was quite immersive!

Major Peril

Falling Down! Yay

Travis

Oh wow The Grey and Falling Down. I cant wait to see the comments section for Falling Down...

Ashley

Wow, this LOTR concert must have been absolutely awesome! Thanks for sharing some pics. I'm really looking forward to Falling Down! Fantastic movieπŸ‘

Stefan Loferer

Saw The Fellowship of the Ring in concert, it was such an experience!

Christian Malbeuf

A The Ghost and the Darkness/Falling Down double feature would've been amazing 😏

Carlos Perez

Glad I choose to come back to a monthly contribution at this specific time; even thou I haven't watched any Star Trek (yet) I still feel you make more than enough great content, can't express what it has given me, like you said about looking forward to every week; it has done the same for me. - Hope you still feel like this in xx number of years, trek or no trek. (And yes I have seen most of star trek but never had the energy to go back and watch it again, but I havn't given up hope that I might)

Erik Lundmark

Face of the Enemy is pretty great.

Preaching to the Horse's Mouth

Really glad you enjoyed the concert! I went to one here in the UK and it was amazing. Good choice of movies but just a shame they are getting outnumbered by the TV shows at the minute.

Simon Haynes

Damn that concert sounds awesome!!

samuel Jakob

Rachel Ticotin in Falling Down was my first celebrity crush πŸ˜‚

Chris Nielsen

Glad to hear you had an amazing time Jen and it's lovely of you to share a few pics with us πŸ™‚ proud dad with his two lovely girls is wonderful get that one framed Jen it's magic πŸ‘Œ as you know I told you last week I was spoiled to something that happens in THE GREY and won't watch it so will be skipping that one but I am looking forward to falling down that's going to be great

Ian

I'm very happy for you, Jen. These are the magical moments in life and once more, it's art that can enrich our lives so much..πŸ™πŸ» Thank you as well for sharing something more private from your life, which is never a must..πŸ™πŸ» Oh well.. 'Falling Down'.. One of my top 10 movies, honestly. Timeless, deep, sad, ironic, tragic, tense.. and one of these films in which nearly everything works together so well. I can't wait for it.. I'm sure I'm not the only one here..πŸ˜‰

Marco Borromeo

Spoiler: Someone falls down.

Jon Hoover

Looking forward to Falling Down! That LOTR concert sounds amazing, those play along things always look fun
