*Regarding Email Notifications: I know it can be annoying to be emailed every single time I post something. You can change your email notifications on the left hand panel in 'Settings' under 'Email Notifications' (desktop)

*Regarding Name in Credits: If you're on a credits tier it can take up to a week to see your name in the credits (though usually within a few days). This is because I sometimes work ahead to get videos ready to post before they go live. If you do not see your name after 1 week please message me and I will make sure to add it. Credits will be listed as your name shows on Patreon. If you don't want your name in credits please message me and I'll remove you from list.

*Spoilers: PLEASE no spoilers in comments or in direct messages to me. No "hints" or trying to lead me in the right direction or asking if I want to know something. The point of these reactions is for me to discover things as I go and to be surprised. Thank you, I appreciate it!

*Replies to Messages/Comments: Across all platforms I now get hundreds of comments and messages every single day. I do my best to return messages but please do not be offended if I do not reply or if replies take a while. Many larger channels hire people to help them answer messages or reply to comments. I read all comments and messages myself, even if I don't have time to reply. If you leave a comment or message please know I received it and I appreciate it.

Anybody know what happened with the Band of Brothers poll? Was really looking to that

Matt T

Still no Seinfeld...?? 🥲 I'm sure it will be worth the wait -- but I can't wait!

Michael T

This week brings us to one of the top 5 TNG and StaTrek franchise episodes. Personally, it’s my #1, with darmok and Yesterday’s Enterprise in close proximity

Michael Tuffin

Oh, k, cheers. Yes, I thought you meant Leon. 👍 Extended LOTR is awesome.

Jason Scade

C'mon Sein!

Respect the Cockerel

I'm so very excited for LoTR!

Nilly Willy

Last night, I submitted my limit of 2 movie request for November at jenmurrayxo.com. I also went through and upvoted other movies.

Clay F

Well worth the rewatch, especially with extended. You will pick up more and will be fresh. Will be gratifying for the reaction audience. I read The Hobbit as a kid. I watched the LoR theatricals 20+ years ago. I watched Two Towers in the theater. In the last 2 years, I watched the extended versions a few times and absorbed so much more and truly grown to love LoR.

Clay F

I mean Jen's website is one big user-generated poll. There's dozens of movies just been added to vote for. A poll winner will get about 200 votes, there's no reason a recent addition can't fly to the top if it's popular

Respect the Cockerel

"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" (1991) is still my favorite Gary Oldman movie. It has 3 votes on https://www.jenmurrayxo.com/ ...

Grga Pitic

I saw original theatrical when they came out 20+ years ago. Im sure i forget a lot & never seen the extendeds

Jen M

Going by her voting website, it looks like Jen has seen it and this rewatch will be with a friend? Im not sure

Mark McKeown

Haha, okay... that made laugh for some reason; why are people (we) so weird? :-)

Erik Lundmark

I may not do a poll every week. Sometimes it seems to do more harm than good

Jen M

I must be dreaming; my 2 favorite people are doing Fellowship, And Twin Peaks The Return Part 8 (@ReelFood) Also, no poll this week? Later post perhaps?

Erik Lundmark

I can't believe you've never seen Lord of the Rings, well it's not on the list. can't wait. any excuse to watch that masterpiece movie series.

zynjams

I think the 1 hour 49 minute (theatrical) version of Léon: The Professional is the way to go. It flows better. If you really love the movie and want more fleshed out character dynamics then the extended edition could be a future consideration. Good choice 👍🏻

Amarant Coral

I can’t recall Jen have you seen LOTR? Just not the extended edition?

Brett Delbridge

YAY! FELLOWSHIP is my favorite LOTR entry, my favorite fantasy movie, and my favorite "extended edition"/"director's cut" ever! What a wonderful thing it will be to rewatch with you! So excited!

sarCC

Im guessing you think Im referring to Leon, im not - LOTR, where it specifically says extended version on the image lol

Mark McKeown

No women, no kids.

Jason Scade

Jen isn't doing the extended cut. It's going to be the theatrical release. 110 mins.

Jason Scade

It seems to be theatrical release. Not the extended version.👍

Jason Scade

I wonder which version of Leon? The one the sanitized for Americans, or the triple-shot strength one?

SnabbKassa

Gary Oldham in 'Slow Horses'. An ongoing UK spy drama series. Series 4 recently ended. S5 & S6 have been greenlit. It's critically acclaimed. A sort of anti-James Bond. Superb stuff! ❤️🏆

Jason Scade

Yaaaay, finally going back to Middle Earth, that's awesome

JPDotCom23

I guess it's down to me to be the "sh1t" of the comments section - I didn't realise Leon was such a short movie

Anthony Peterson

I'm not usually a fan of extended cuts of things as they are rarely worth it, but the LOTR extended is very much worth it. ST:TNG is always great. Leon, or "The Professional" as I remember it being advertised as when it came out in the U.S., was surprisingly good. The performances of a kid Natalie Portman was impressive and Gary Oldman is great in everything he's in. He has played so many very different characters. Even the voices he uses. Considering this, Dracula, The Fifth Element, the Harry Potter movies he was in, the Batman movies, Darkest Hour (as Winston Churchill), Sid and Nancy (as Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols), JFK (as Oswald), I could go on... So versatile.

Zapp Rowsdower

Okay... I'll brown bag it.

Major Peril

I'm doing the banquet for it. But due to rampaging Uruk-hai and orcs disrupting supply chains, our list of ingredients grows thin.

Jason Scade

Best week I've seen so far!

jonguy77

In all honestly, I don't necessarily *mind* the extended cuts, but I think the theatricals play better overall. There are maybe one or two extra scenes per movie that I think would have made the theatrical cuts close to perfect. At any rate, I'm glad that both exist and remain available (well.... aside from the weird color grading changes PJ made to the recent remasters).

Bryan Tuck

Reinforcing what you said: *Jen will be watching the original theatrical cut.* (Not the later extended version with 25 additional minutes.)

Happy Hanukkah

"I'm excited for this week's picks - a couple of Seins" I'll open up my eyes to watch the Seins.

Happy Hanukkah

What a fantastic week! I am so excited for The Professional, great Star Trek episodes and I haven’t seen the extended cut of Lord of the Rings so I’m looking forward to the company for a watch along!

Kristen

Ugh, as if these movies weren't long enough.

Joe Blankenship

LOTR is my favorite movie of all time! And a masterpiece! Glad to watch it with you Jen!

Mastervodo

Glad you're watching the theatrical cut of LEON / THE PROFESSIONAL. Contrary to popular belief, that is the version that was originally released, even in Europe. The longer version was based on an earlier preview cut, but it didn't come out until a couple of years later, and IMO it's not quite as good. Sometimes less is more. :)

Bryan Tuck

Yeah, the Extended Editions each include a number of names from the official Lord of the Rings Fan Club at the end of the credits. Basically, depending on what tier of membership you paid for at the time, you got your name into one, two, or all three. But in terms of actual extra footage - Fellowship is about 30 minutes longer than the theatrical, Two Towers about 45 minutes, and Return of the King a whopping (and IMO excessive) 50 minutes or so.

Bryan Tuck

Never seen the extended cuts before so sounds like the perfect opportunity!

Mark McKeown

Thank you that sounds great! -Mike

Mike

I am watching Seinfeld weekly on Patreon. I am having a bulk of episodes edited for a long YouTube video. When it is ready I will post early access here.

Jen M

I noticed seinfeld is announced every week for the past few weeks but no seinfeld youtube edits. :( Will there be more seinfeld youtube edits at any point in the future?

Mike

All I can say is I am SOOO here for Leon The Professional!

Over50Gamer

Both of these STNG episodes are burned into my childhood memory. Can’t wait!

PIG

As much as I love STNG, I really want to see what you think about The Ring

PIG

Have a very Frodo-week everyone. 😁 I'm booking my seat at the Council of Elrond right now!

Major Peril

Extended is more like 3h 48m but a good 20+ mins is credits

Batguano

What's the runtime on the extended edition of LotR? The copy I have is 2h 58m.

Joe Blankenship

your very welcome jen I really enjoy all the watch alongs

john reed

Oh, yeah, this is going to be a good week

Thomas Yanez

Great week. Very much looking forward to your reaction to The Fellowship of the Ring. Lord of the Rings is a favorite of mine. Extended Edition is the best for all 3 movies. Looking forward to The Inner Light (as you know, a famous episode). I am behind on the Seinfeld reactions but I love Seinfeld.

Clay F

EVERYONE!

Carlos Perez

For Frodo! And Jen! 💜 Also, "No women, no kids.".

Jason Scade

Had a great Halloween, hope you did too! Looking forward to this week 😊

Christian Malbeuf

Wow, we're almost to TNG Season 6!

Bret K
