2024-02-25 08:03:19 +0000 UTCBtw, Jen, American Psycho is way bloodier than Texas Chainsaw '74. They probably are equally frightening and disturbing. Am.Psycho is also laced with very good, intensely black humor. Though I think you should be aware that American Psycho contains a scene where a dog is murdered (off-camera), but it's still horrific and appalling.

2024-02-20 01:12:45 +0000 UTCI'll put in a good word for The French Connection (Gene Hackman, Roy Scheider*) , which seems to have fallen into relative obscurity despite its Oscar success. I admit that I first saw it only recently, but I became an immediate enthusiast. But if there can be only one, it's hard to argue with Highlander's entertainment value. (* This prompted me to add my vote to All That Jazz (1979) on the request site.)

2024-02-20 01:06:54 +0000 UTCBullitt and the Great Escape are awesome movies. Both star the “King of Cool” Steve McQueen. Bullitt is a groundbreaking film that changed how car chases are done in movies, because EVERY car chase since has been inspired by this movie. Steve McQueen was an expert race car driver and an expert motorcycle rider. He did most of his own driving in both movies. Dirty Harry an offspring of Bullitt and Steve was offered the part of Harry but turned it down before Clint was cast
