Ford v Ferrari (2019) Full Length Reaction

We're going to make history.

I really loved this one! Exciting, funny, tragic, great acting + totally accessible even for someone who knows nothing about cars! Loved seeing Matty D + Christian Bale together, they had great chemistry. Bale was especially awesome, what a chameleon! Are there more sports movies I should check out?

⭐ Special thanks to Producers: MattN, Todd Preble, Incognito, John Walters, JT, Noby, SwimintheRain, John Gray, Randy Aiken, Barry Hammock, Celeste McAllister, Nick Corning, OrangeLion, + those who wish to remain uncredited :)

Yeah, agree, mch better than Days of Thunder.

For another movie in which Christian Bale completely transforms himself and doesn't seem like the same person, see "The Fighter" (2010) which includes Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams.

I liked this movie more than Days of Thunder. this is speed racer territory

Obviously dramatized, but most of the facts of the movie are historically accurate, from Carrol Shelby winning Le Mans and dropping out of racing due to a heart condition, Ford trying to buy Ferrari and getting burned, the race victories, including the 1,2,3 finish at Le Mans all happened. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is one of the most revered races and is still going on. The next one is on June 10-11, 2023. As for the danger 16 drivers have died during the race, and 5 during pre-race practice. On June 11, 1955, there was a disasterous wreck that also claimed the lives of 83 spectators. One of the things I love about this film is how accurate they tried to be. All the racer's names you hear are the people they raced against. Dan Gurney was played by his son, Alex. Ken Miles' son Peter was also consulted on the film, and yes he was there to witness his father's death.

The reason Miles decides to slow down at the end was because he wanted to do what was right by his friend, Shelby, who had stuck his own neck out on the line for Miles on numerous occasions. The Ford execs didn't want Miles because they thought he was too selfish and didn't have Ford's best interest at heart. When Beebe told Shelby that Miles needed to slow down and finish the race together with the other two Ford drivers, he threatened to ruin Shelby if Miles refused to be a team player. Shelby, out of principle and love of the sport and appreciation for Miles' hard work and talent, left the decision up to Miles. In the end, Miles proved his critics wrong and did what was best for Shelby, putting himself second (literally) for the sake of his friend.
