Merch Update - Vinyl Production & Timeline

First off - March 31 was the cutoff for ANimal tiers to qualify for the vinyls. The only way to qualify now is to be a part of the Creative Crew this month before I place the order. There are 5 slots left and the final cutoff for Creative Crew is May 31 - I’ll send one last reminder the last week of May.

Second - an update on lathe cut vs normal vinyl.
As I’ve been in contact with a few different vinyl companies before placing the order, I’ve found that a normal vinyl (instead of a lathe cut) is in the budget. As I’m learning more about mastering for vinyl and the physical process of actually cutting a sound wave into vinyl, it sounds like a traditional vinyl will be better quality. So while lathe cut is still an option, I’m leaning towards trying to make a normal vinyl work within budget if I can.

And lastly - production timeline.
Turns out that the vinyl industry has been in very high demand recently. Current production timelines for every company I have talked to are ~12 weeks. That means the vinyl order would ship to me at the end August if I place my order at the end of May.

I thought this time that I planned enough lead time to get these to you in early summer, but it looks like I was wrong. If all goes well, I’ll be shipping to patrons in September and everyone should have their vinyl by end of October. This just means that I will need to bump up the timeline for Fall to keep on track.
