This week, I'm out of town Wed-Sun for the Mindcrack Marathon Charity event so this week's stream was yesterday and it worked out pretty well! I started off the stream just wanting to write some chords that I was vibing with, pinged chat for some ideas, and went from there!
After settling on a chord progression I followed a downtempo/halftime/slow dubstep direction with orchestral elements and I think it worked really well. I spent some time during the rest of the stream doing some rough arrangement to end up at the idea you hear above.
I think this idea has a lot of promise and I'm pretty surprised - I didn't intend to write something like this but it sounds really cool. At the very least, I'm definitely going to return for a second session.

As mentioned before, I'm out of town until Sunday doing a charity event (though you can catch me on Mindcrack's stream throughout the weekend). That said, next week we'll be back on schedule!

That would be *awesome*! I have to mention, that the first time I had ever heard of 'Approaching Nirvana' was the track 'Stop! (Instrumental)' from a Space Engineers video on YouTube. Been a fan ever since!

2021-11-26 03:36:46 +0000 UTCI may have been listening to it on repeat for a few hours now. It's one of those tracks that has great potential as BGM for videos. Practically inspires me to make a SpaceEngine montage for it.
