Very valuable information for EU citizens. Access to sulfuric acid has been severely limited. Some sulfuric acid is much better than no sulfuric acid, even if it takes days to make.

2017-09-29 13:38:12 +0000 UTCI think it's a matter of reaction conditions. Industrially, copper chloride is used as an oxygen absorbent/reactant for a host of industrial chemistry. They've optimized the conditions pretty well that it becomes profitable. So i think I just need to find better conditions. (BTW, mixing ferrocyanide with sulfuric acid generates hydrogen cyanide gas...)

2017-09-29 12:09:55 +0000 UTCHmmm... I wonder if it would be possible to add a co-catalyst to speed up the copper (I) chloride oxidation. Something that would be soluble in both oxydized and reduced form, speeding up the transport of electrons to the copper I chloride. Maybe some ferri/ferrocyanide? (i'm really not sure how fast air would oxidize the ferrocyanide though...)
