We are back with another a new season of The Golden Girls. Today, we are watching Old Friends.
Sophia becomes friends with an elderly man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. This storyline was heartbreaking. As someone with elderly parents, my biggest fear is that my quick-witted parents will suffer from an illness like that. Although it's not a fun topic, I appreciated how this how tackled it and the bond Sophia built with her dear friend (even though it was only for a short while). Elsewhere in the episode, Blanche accidently gives Rose's teddy bear to a Sunshine Cadet who holds it hostage, much to Rose's chagrin. This episode was a great way to start the new season! I can't wait to see what shenanigans our girls get to next!
