- What about an episode with an EMH mark 2 and get Andy Dick back? - I loved the callback to episode 1 of Voyager, very funny - If there were any way to watch Prodigy now :( find a way to tie in the Holo-Janeway and missing Chakotay storyline (and also, Prodigy animation is quite good, IMO)

I was going to say the same! I hope you consider doing a review of Season 2, Episode 1 of Lower Decks. It is hilarious, and basically just another episode of voyager. I think it's worth a podcast on its own!

Marisa

I'm way late listening to this but boy, I can't wait for you two to see the season opener of Lower Decks.

Loved Voyager and have loved the podcast even more…. But the start of season 8 sounds dreadful. I loved light hearted action adventure in space. The big dinner, visiting friends in prison, the heartache of Janeway’s lost relationships?? Not my cup of tea. How about Tom Belana Harry and Seven go off in the delta flier to rescue some stragglers left behind? Oh and of course the Dr goes too and they meet Nelix? Or return some accidentally purloined artefacts?

I want two captain proton things. 1) a voyager reunion where successful holonovelist Tom just won't shut up about the latest Proton chapter, everyone's like 'omg stop' but he finally convinces someone to check it out and hijinks ensue. 2) an actual animated proton series where we just see the 26 chapters or whatever as if it was the buzz lightyear tv show. you can get the actors to play the parts (no breaking character, they just are the characters) or have the stock players.

Samantha

I loved this!! Well done guys. I would most definitely listen to an audiobook of season 8. I’d also like to know what the story would be now though - a la Picard if all the characters were to re unite these 25 or so years later? Side note if they did launch season 8 with new actors (😭) who would you cast?

Nikita Osborne

I think these are all great ideas, Garrett and Robbie!

Story line is a bit day time soap… Action are not consistent with their characters development through the 7years. The Maquis are done.. put to bed. Perhaps a a debriefing of voyagers encounters, new technologies found, borg contacts. Kind of a greatest hits along with flashbacks as well as reunions with families, new postings and assignments and missions.

Sal

Seven needs to strike out on her own and Chakotay respects that. He mourns the relationship and then crosses paths with Janeway. Now they don't have an excuse. I don't know about the Tom and B'Eleanna conflict. I mean Paris wasn't exactly Starfleet dedicated. I always figured he didn't fit in anywhere on earth. It's why he and B'Eleanna worked so well. I think they could explore how they fit in in the alpha quadrant. I'd love this season 8 to be done! Great animation could make it possible. Make it so! 🙃

Melanie

It seems the guy stuff is cool. The women, however, would NOT be pining over lost love. B’Elanna is a brilliant engineer and a brilliant bad-ass. If anyone could be a great mom and still work (with Tom’s support) it is her! Janeway would have to answer for some of her decisions and Seven would have to go through rejection, anger, confusion and risk her friendships to find herself and assert her humanity.

ChrisB

Loved your story ideas for season 8! My own story arc for Seven has her running into distrust from some in Starfleet and on Earth, which leads to her leaving and forging out on her own with the Ferris Rangers. There is a rift with Janeway, who wants her to stay. Also, we forgot about Icheb!!!

Deborah Moltisanti

I love how much thought you put into this. I expected it to be a comedic episode, but I can totally see this being made. Thumbs up for that really clever reason to bring back Neelix. The idea of Harry getting drunk on his newly found fame is hilarious. I can imagine some great scenes between him and the EMH like in Workforce. The Doctor is disapproving of Harry's thirst for fame because, "he's not doing it for the right cause" (unlike the Doc, of course). I think there's potential for a really beautiful story between Seven and Chakotay and why they don't work out as a romantic couple in the Alpha Quadrant. Watching two people slowly falling out of love is a trope we rarely get to see on TV which is a real pity. So many relationships IRL don't end with a big bang, but because two people realize that they've grown apart/weren't that compatible in the first place. I'd love a hint at the end of season eight, that there are still romantic feelings between Janeway and Chakotay. I think Janeway is so caught up in her actions to fix the timeline in season 8 that she doesn't have a lot of time for reflection. But I'd love to see her (darker) feelings explored in season 9. And yes, please, please give us a good Maquis plot. Making it a major issue of conflict between B'Elanna and Tom is such an intriguing idea! I want to see those two struggle with what they stand for. So, where can I watch this? ;)

Starlight

Biggest miss in Harry's redemption story is that Chakotay is now off in the woods, when they get back on Voyager Harry had been promoted to Commander and becomes 1st officer. I think maybe the gal from the lower decks episode(don't remember the name) gets a redemption arc too and becomes ops.

Right?!

OMG! Why the heck would you perpetuate the stupidest mistake of Voyager- Seven & Chakotay!!??🤮🤮🤑

ChrisB

Remember Seven is on Picard, so she can’t become a queen.

iSuzane

You guys bummed me out with not putting Janeway and Chakotay together as soon as they got home. In the novels, the first thing Seven did was break up with Chakotay because she wants to figure out life as a human on Earth. He didn't seem all that put out about it. Then later he and Janeway get together. There are some really cool storylines that happen in those books...I recommend them! Paris and Torres have a really interesting story too. And Harry finally gets his promotion.
