Outsourcing

We know video games might not be your thing or what brought you over to our Patreon page but I thought we'd share some exciting news related to our E&K gaming channel and our business in general.

We've started outsourcing more work!!

We're using rev.com to get captions which used to take a lot longer than you might think.

We've tried Fiverr  ( http://bit.ly/ekfiverr )for some website help (jurry still out but promising so far)

We've tried Freelancer ( http://bit.ly/ekfreelancer ) to find editors for our gaming channel (https://www.youtube.com/evanandkatelyngaming) which has already lead to good results and we have the first 2 edits back (first one attached to this post). Initially it has taken us just about as long to set all this up, gather the right assets, provide guidance and feedback as it would for us to just edit them ourselves but I think that setting up these systems will really help us out in the long run.

Anyways... testing this all out with the gaming channel, where there is less pressure has really helped us learn a lot of lessons about outsourcing and passing off some of our workload.

Not sure what is next for us but just wanted to share the progress :)

It's really hard! We couldn't really get past it for our main videos so I think doing it with the gaming videos is a better starting point for us. I totally feel ya! -K

Outsourcing is haaarrrddddd. I recently added another podcast producer to my team, and while they’re killing it, sometimes it’s hard to get over the thought of “I would have done this part differently”, but scaling is necessary for growth and long term success! Congrats guys!
