Resin Testing Aftershow!

Omg - I can't imagine losing an hour like interview with a guest! It's one thing to have to re-recird something yourself but even worse when another party is involved. Yay so glad you're gonna try epoxy! We got the slow acting kit (this one https://amzn.to/2CJcjN3) but I'm really glad you mentioned something because it made me realize we had linked to the fast acting one! Really happy with the speed, I think if you're doing small things faster acting would be ok but we just did some significantly larger stuff and I cant imagine having less time than we did! -K

Back when I was a podcaster, I once had a guest on my show and did an hour-long interview without recording it. It worked out okay in the end, but man... talk about horrifying. Question for ya: I'm going to play around with epoxy and I'll start with what you recommended (the TotalBoat kit) but it comes in three hardening speeds. Maybe you mentioned it in the video and I missed it, but were you using the slow, medium, or fast hardening speed? And were you happy with the speed you chose?

Nice! That's how we made our earlier version of these coaster molds (started with 3D printed masters, moved onto CNCd masters). Was great meeting you too! -K

I'm so glad to know I am not the only one who has talked into a dead camera for "x" minutes or deleted "y" footage or any one of a dozen other things that can go wrong in video... At MakerBarn we use resin casting with 3D printing; we make a 3D printed "master" and then create a silicone mold of it. We pour resin in the mold to make another 3D creation in under 10 minutes instead of the usual 2-3 hours (or more). .. Enjoyed meeting you at Rockler!
