One of the things that The Wire could have improved is that on the first watch almost nobody picks up that Ziggy's story is about bullying. They made the bullying he receives a little too easy to justify, and therefore most people's instinct is to side with the bullies in every situation that he is in. I feel like the message could have been a little clearer there.
