Question
Added 2019-09-15 17:57:49 +0000 UTCI'm thinking of (re)investing in some gear for capturing hdri light maps. If so I would make hdris with high res backplates for archviz and automotive rendering. Hdris would be about 23x11k pixels and really high dynamic range. Backplates would be 42mpix.
It ends up at about 2000 euro, so before spending it, I want to hear with you guys if this is something you would be interested in and value here on my Patreon, or if you think you wouldn't have any real use for it?

YES! YES! YES!
2019-10-26 20:15:34 +0000 UTCVery interesting would be ones with ground, not black bottom.
2019-09-22 18:09:57 +0000 UTCDefinitely! Also would love to see some of the material scanning stuff.
2019-09-17 10:40:54 +0000 UTCits definitely going to be of good value
2019-09-16 18:59:18 +0000 UTC100%--especially when you get to California! So many quality HDRIs are lacking that really high, bright sun that you get in the US :)
2019-09-16 13:28:24 +0000 UTCYes, but hopefully those that can also be used for exterior archviz too.
2019-09-16 09:54:35 +0000 UTCA big gap in the market is high quality elevated HDRI's/backplates i.e views from the 30th floor of a hotel room. A big problem with most HDRI's is the low horizon level/low building perspectives due to being shot from the ground. Not sure how feasible it would be unless hooking up a high end camera to a drone hundreds of meters into the sky...

2019-09-15 20:11:55 +0000 UTCHigh Quality HDRi’s are always welcome!
2019-09-15 19:29:50 +0000 UTCI already got the camera, A Sony A7R3, so that I would have to invet in is a Zeiss Batis 18mm with variable ND filter, tripod and a panorama head. Yeah his stuff is actually what inspired me to do so. I don't expect making any money off of it, but I want to play with it and thought that if people here on Patreon is interested, then I have an actual incentive more than just "want to". :-)
2019-09-15 18:31:44 +0000 UTCGreat idea!
2019-09-15 18:29:32 +0000 UTCvery cool idea. !!!
2019-09-15 18:18:52 +0000 UTCWhat gear are you considering? I think you will never go wrong with camera, it's always useful. Moreover you can start selling hdris and backplates on gumroad for automotive guys, look what Onur Dursun is doing.
