Also sounds like in addition to the six 13yo’s there’s three other children so 16 total kids in one house. Idk, she probably was under anesthesia that very day, may have stitches, on pain meds, etc. it’s a little unreasonable to expect she won’t be impacted 😅

Let's look at what he really did shall we? He did not stop his son from living his very short childhood. He informed the wife that his son would be having friends over. As someone who has a kid on the brink of being a teenager and has had multiple big sleepovers if the father is taking care of it she is overreacting.

Only one person hurt me after he passed(my sister, but I won’t get into it) but where she is coming from I wouldn’t be mad. My sister-in-law who is one of my best friends left for a week(for a good reason) and I’d never hold it against them. I can’t imagine losing my parents and would be devastated. But, losing my husband I know I’ll never feel as alone as that

Personally, it’s unreasonable to expect everyone else’s life to stop because of your grief (it was hard to recognize but I did with a little reflection). Her pain is so real and i get it, but the reaction is too much for a grown woman to be able to recognize as bad as it hurts, life goes on for everyone else

I remember in one video you posted on the main (I think it was with Chris or Joe Santagato not sure) you said you were gonna scale back on the really jarring stories but I wouldn’t mind hearing more 😂

I didn’t even get so much as a text from my husband’s family. Two years later and it’s still painful to think about. That said, I can see why she took it the way she did. Your emotions are NOT rational after someone you love dies. I don’t really think there is any winning.

Grief is a tricky thing and I was entirely responsible for organising everything. However, I would have never dared to make a comment like that to OP. It is horrible and never justified to wish ill on someone. However, regarding the trip, I think it really depends on how long OP is gone for. If it’s 1-4 days, she should do it and enjoy. If it’s longer, I fully agree with SIL that she needs her. OP has done everything and more.

I would instantly think of how painful that would be for him to hear and never want to hurt him in that way. I agree with Morgan, definitely feels like she’s feeling him out for his reaction. He has every right to have his doubts and how could he trust you?!?! When your ass is always pulling pranks on him.

Because regardless of the husband she would have a duty to the best friend imo. They sound too close to be just sisters in law.

Then they started chasing me and the two boys who didn’t strip down around the house. They were 12-13.
