When i was in nursing school, there was a woman in my class who was an ex pill addict and she told me se always did dilaudid’s .. when she was still working ad a psw she said her patient asked for extra dilaudid so she gave it.. the patient ended up dying; actually overdosed from what she had given; its crazy to think that that woman never got caught and went on to become a nurse. I had no proof i wish i could have reported it. It still haunts me to this day. Knowing she is taking care of patients and has all these drugs at her disposal. Please report it!!

woman of the hour is new and SO GOOD!!!

Brittany George

Horror movie you HAVE TO WATCH: Tusk. It’s my favorite and it’s early A24 so it’s got a specific indie charm with a DOPE ASS twist and mediocre commentary on human vs animal nature. But it’s such a trip !!

lilelotus

The Guy with water thrown on his face. He is probably used to an alcoholic since he recognized his gf's abusive behaviour under the influence and didn't end it. My heart goes out to him and a PSA for everyone, look back on your family dynamic and try to identify if anyone, even extended, has a toxic trait and what accomodations you had to make to live with it because you might not recognize when a new person with the same trait enters your life and your instinct is to also make accommodations for their toxicity leading to situations like this.

Gouravager

just came here to say that me and my husband are obsessed with the intro/outro song we bop our heads and dance every time we hear it. p.s., you 3 (morgan, justin and lauren) are our favorite people. we love you so much ❤️

Emmanuella Schramm

First story, we're all familiar with lucy letby right? Report her crazy ass.

Demi ?

morgan i’m so serious you have to read this it’s about putting things in other peoples food but you could never guess what 😭 https://www.reddit.com/r/AITAH/s/WiDlF7okLC

Abuse isn’t a description of “bad action,” it’s a matter of intentionally harming/upsetting someone for selfish reasons. If this was just a dumb move, the moment you realize the other person is really upset you go “omg I’m so sorry…. Babe I’m sorry”

Rez Watson

Nurse: unfortunately this is a well documented consequence of under staffing and over working someone whose job requires empathy. We studied this in social work school. You are asked to do more than you possibly could, eventually you feel entitled to short cuts and being efficient and being in control. You start to resent the ppl who need your help and start believing that everyone is just weak and you;re doing “what has to be done.” It’s a really cool area of study.

Rez Watson

Think we're getting a little carried away by saying it's water boarding/abuse....

Krista Stevens

Morgan I would love to see you film a Popaganda episode with Bunnie Xo, I think your stories and her reactions would be great. I think she would be great on two hot takes too.

Hello THT team, I'm a long time listener, and have just joined your patreon to say hello and thank you! I think of slipping through the cracks a bit like the tiny black dust spirits in the anime film "My Neighbour Totoro". they sneak in and out of cracks in the walls in an old house, and only the kids can see them :)

Charlie_P

falling through the cracks makes me think of sand falling through wooden floor boards

Casey DeJonge

when i think of “slipping through the cracks” i envision a marble falling in between two gaps in wooden flooring LOL

Colleen Schmidt

Morgan!! Please try to get Bradley Steven Perry & Jake Short from The Sit & Chat podcast on an episode!! They both were on Disney channel.

Maddie Holliman

Well yeah you're right hate is a big word for sure haha. Let's say I strongly dislike being around kids but I don't despise them per se, just not for me lol. Didn't mean for it to sound so extreme.

Alex

Horror movie recommendation: "Poltergeist"! It was actually the first scary film I've ever watched and it's still the scariest one! It haunted me for months after watching and the whole vibe is too realistic, even though the movie is paranormal! It's an old one, but definitely really good!

Anna Bozhilova

Is any of them more like psychological thriller or just regular horror movies?

Anna Bozhilova

General question - why do you HATE kids, like I understand not liking them, but hate, I feel it's too much? (I'm not trying to be rude nor anything, I'm genuinely curious :)

Anna Bozhilova

The first story reminds me of Lucy Letby in the UK. She was recently sentenced to life in prison for killing 7 babies and attempting to harm another 6. They found out she was doing it, so a married male colleague would pay more attention to her. Freaking PSYCHOPATHIC!

Rafaela Stoakes

😱 ... Yeah wtf dude

Eden Standing

Ok both of these stories are scary

Laura Herrera

Omg this first story was awful 🥺 my heart broke!

Laura Herrera

As a nurse, absolutely not normal! I’m ICU so yeah I’ll say things like “I like them intubated and sedated” as a joke because it makes a less talkative day but I’d never dream to want to hurt any of my patients and when I lose them I am often holding back tears with the family. She does not need to have any contact with any patients and needs to be reported to the board of nursing and fired.

Kristina Haynes

as someone who actually hates kids lol, this is very disturbing behaviour. this is soo creepy. It's giving nurse Lucie (who is a nurse serial killer from the UK that killed like some 13 new born babies)

Alex

when I hear slipping thru the crack I can't help but envision a fart slipping thru the butt crack as it makes distinct vibrating sound

Alex

I’m a nursing student right now and I just want to know why OP’s friend in story 1 went through the literal torture of going through nursing school to risk her license like that (I’m dramatic its not torture but it is very cutthroat). And I feel like pediatrics is so competitive like you have to really try hard at your job and display the right characteristics to get to where she is. Nursing is obviously about knowing the body, pharmacology, and medical stuff but a huuuuge portion of nursing school is dedicated specifically to ethical and compassionate caring techniques. I’m just so surprised at her outcome. She definitely should have taken a step back if she was overwhelmed. Just because you dedicated all that time to school doesn’t mean you have to suffer in a job you hate, let alone take it out on your patients. The scariest part is she feels so comfortable opening up about her behavior to her friend. That makes me feel like she’s always thought this way or has thought this way for a long time to feel like it’s just a topic of normal conversation at this point. I hope swiper comes to swipe her nursing license.

Hannah Welsh

I'm also not into the gory movies. But here ate a few of my favourite scary movies: 1. Rose red, and part 2 the story of Ellen Rimbauer 2. The haunting (1999) 3 The cell 4 13 ghosts 5 the final cut

Nicola Vos

Most abusive people do not wake up in the morning thinking, “Today I am going to abuse my partner.” Or consciously but slowly start testing the waters. Maybe SOME psychopathic abusers, or sadistic abusers, but there are more non psychopathic abusers than psychopathic ones because psychopaths only make up a small percentage of the population. Their actions are usually justified in their head for a plethora of reasons or feelings. Often it is fear of losing an attachment or being abandonment. Psychology in Seattle podcast episodes about love bombing talk about this more in depth & plenty of other episodes. Also, Canadas health care is mostly free, but it’s not good because it can take months or years for people to get a 5 minute appointment where they are ignored. And who knows, it may change in the near future to more privatized. However, the prices of alcohol do not deter people who want to drink, from drinking. Everything is more expensive in Canada, but people still buy stuff. And you can get cheap liquor just like in the states. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the price of alcohol being used as a deterrent for drinking here, but that’s just my anecdotal experience. But I have been around a lot of alcoholics, a few treatment centre’s & a lot of addictions workers, so I feel like that would have come up before.

I’m not a scary movie person AT ALL- that being said there’s a ‘thriller’ movie called “Nerve” that was a pretty good watch it’s like a futuristic dare game that this girl gets caught up in. I recommend it as a movie that will get you on the edge of your seat without being very scary!

Kenedy Ishmael

I feel like Justin talking about checks and balances is very on the nose with the nurse story. Unfortunately, in jobs like this secondary traumatic stress or burnout are very very common, especially if in this profession for an extended period of time. This nurse may have very well started out with a compassionate nature but after day in and day out of dealing with such bleak outcomes for patients, her compassion may have very well run dry :(

Lili Martinez

From the UK myself and Lucy Letby was CONVICTED of attacking 13 babies, KILLING 7 of those poor angels .. the NHS has lots of problems and potentially because of how overworked they all are is how she got away with it for so long. Its a case that has shocked the whole of the UK but there's no doubt she harmed those poor babies that were relying on her due to them all being in NICUs

Jessica Hyndman

YES!!! I was just about to recommend the movie to Morgan I feel like she would find it very scary but not gory scary!!! & it also correlates with this story so much to me.

Mariah Dowell

The nurse story reminds me of The Good Nurse. About the true story of the nurse who would put insulin in patients IVs killing them

Raygene English

Sorry if this is an unpopular opinion, but you need to post the first story publicly. Make that shit go viral. That nurse needs to be stopped before they kill someone. Straight up serial killer behavior.

Brenda Castillo

Lol Is it Foothills?

Maximum S Labrador

Nurse story..... no. That is absolutely not normal. If you can document these conversations you should take it to her licencing body and make a complaint..... because giving morphine to kids off prescription? That's a criminal offence on multiple levels and she will kill sombody doing that.

Maximum S Labrador

Accused of..... its a really sjetcy case and I would.not be surprised if it comes out that te Trust was using her to cover up for their own poor practice overworking staff, not having safe staffing levels etc.....

Maximum S Labrador

its also possible that people can see their own faults, but not do much to change it, because putting in the work is hard- and if people keep letting you do that bad thing even after an apology, it subconsciously teaches them it is okay, and worse behaviors may slip out. Sometimes its just hard to tell how much you need help

Jude

Ok another comment now that ive watched more,- I think often times abusers aren't conciously trying to be abusive. If you sit and think about it, how often have you sat and thought about hurting someone on purpose? Most people don't sit and plot other peoples demises. Often times it is an issue of poor coping mechanisms, selfish thinking, unresolved trauma/ mental health, an issue with how they were raised- the list goes on. I have been called an abuser before, and I never went out of my way to hurt someone. I had explosive meltdowns when I was upset due to my BPD, and even though I was the one crying and screaming, it also impacted, scared and hurt my roommates who got caught in the crossfire. It just takes a moment of clarity to be able to step back and realize that your actions DO affect others, even if it wasn't the intention. Not enough people do the reflection because it is much easier to just find fault in the people in front of you, because its easier to look in front of you rather than inward.

Jude

Scary movie I watched recently and LOVED!!!!! Not super gory, definitely more psychological than anything: Watcher (2022) with maika monroe.

Amber Schultz

I could tell you EXACTLY where to go to find this nurse. There is a hospital in my province that is FAMOUS for having the most heartless uncaring employees in EVERY department. I have TOO MANY stories. Uts way more common than you want to ever believe.

Eden Standing

Another aidewas found sleeping in one of the woman's beds in memory care. One of the women she was supposed to be caring for.

Jude

I worked at a nursing home a few summers ago and I swear the other staff made me insane. The folks often told me I was their favorite because i "actually talked to them" (broke my heart!!!) and the nurses and other aides would say the worst things ever- one nurse was describing a woman who had applied her vaginal cream using her finger, and one of the aides said- "She fingerbanged herself???" I cannot believe they let people like that anywhere those in need.

Jude

These were crazyyy stories! As far as the last one goes, I’m someone who’s had my fair share of very bad drunk moments to the point where I had to make the decision to cut waaay back and be very careful with it. I empathize with the gf, although I am not excusing her behavior AT ALL. I think if this is the first time she’s done this and she is willing to get some counseling and be very careful around alcohol or quit completely then maybe he should give her a second shot. I could see her drunk brain thinking “oh this will be funny, I remember when Jen did it to me at that sleepover in 7th grade”. It all depends on their relationship so far and who she’s shown him she is in other ways. If anything like that happens again though, he NEEDS TO LEAVE.

Bailey Perez

omg I've seen that! Soooo good and lightly scary

Two Hot Takes

The motions during animatronics was my favorite part of this. Also, that movie was good!

Caroline Collesano

There's a recent case out of England where a nurse, Lucy Letby, was convicted of killing several babies in her care. It's so sad

Allison Schleicher

Wow this story of the nurse is super creepy !!!

Liz Rue

Omg my spelling 🤦‍♀️ *hill house *Blye manor

JM

The series' that Mike Flanagan does are really good. Some are decently spooky and some gory. You'd have to kind of research them slightly. Midnight Mass is Mt favorite from him though. Then it's haunting of gill house. Blue manor is good, more of a mind bender but it's good

JM

My fav spooky movie is The Skeleton Key. You should definitely add that to your list. It’s not overly scary but definitely creepy!

Jess Maxson
