Dude, have you seen this shit? Perhaps i’m just an easily impressed 90s boomer but boy howdy I sure do like games that remind me of mario 64 in some way.
Super Lucky’s Tale is a throwback platformer, a genre so depressingly rare these days it has to have the word throwback in it. Based on the review i sort of half-remember barely paying attention to, the game showed promise but also sucked turds and was ugly as butt.
NEW Super Lucky’s Tale is some kind of remade version with an overhauled graphical style and less hideous visual design, which might be the same thing, but also it looks nicer. The gameplay is probably better too and maybe the frame rate or something, I don’t know, who cares, point is i like the game.
Just take a look at this colorful bastard game, she’s a damn beauty. Breathe in the rich, vibrant environments, and peep the outfits on this adorable fox protagonist. Of course i mean adorable in a lovable mascot way, not in a goddamn disgusting, dishonorable, evil, morally objectionable, stinky, stupid and objectively cringe af furry way.
The titular lucky isn’t even the only cute guy in this game, it’s full of cute guys. I could go back and say that in a less gay way, but i’m obviously confident and secure enough that i don’t have to. In addition to our intrepid tod-cub, the game also features rock-bots and kitty-ninjas, not to be confused with tittie-ninjas which can be found in more mature games like Nightshade which you probably aren’t cool enough to have heard of anyway.
I enjoy games that allow me to live out my fantasies of being a voice actor. I thought the voices i came up with here were pretty good but when i showed my girlfriend she referred to them as “horrid” and “covid for the ears”, so you be the judge.
Either way, that’s your monthly allotment of childlike wonder. If you want more, give this game a chance, i think it’s pretty cool.
