2025-03-07 00:21:19 +0000 UTCYeah I agree that there are some points they could have handled better especially regarding the "friends" and the whole senior relationship but I guess they didn't want to take too much risk. There are places where the story feels disconnected and some decisions the characters take are kinda baffling but I did enjoy it tho, coming from someone who started bl from jap bl and Thai bl where they have of a story of more lighthearted and comedic bl it was cool to see Korea try to do a more cinematographic/serious bl since they needed to create their own identity. I liked the eight sense for its cinematography and bc jihyun is a cute baby honestly Excited to see more pls from you I loved following the series with you. As always thanks for the reaction!

2025-03-06 20:52:21 +0000 UTCI think their age gap is around maybe 4-5 years? Jihyun is 20 and it’s seems jaehyun is mid to later 20’s so probably 25ish. And I’m pretty sure his brother died in a car crash if I can remember. And yeah i definitely agree with your critique. The thing with korea is their still very conservative that’s why there’s not many BL’s or any Gl Frl. Semantic error was their first successful main stream queer drama and that just came out in like 2022, but they all suffer from a lot of things. The budget, the story line etc etc. Korean has a long way to to go in queer media cause they can’t let go of their need for censorship of queer media. If we compare it to Thailand , they have a vast majority of BL’s and GL’s and they are more progressive in queer media ( even in real life) and their production is A1. And that’s because their queer media is bigger than their heterosexual media, meanwhile in Korea it’s the opposite, their Kdramas are bigger than BL’s so to them BL’s are a back burner idea that’s often get written off and not produced. But yeah once you get into Thai BL’s you’ll see a whole new world. I’m excited to watch more dramas with you!!

2025-03-06 20:36:50 +0000 UTCTbh with exception of the people here, i have seen very little people not liking it. Its probably one of the most loved and liked bls in the bl fandom, many say its the best and theyre fav. The only thing i didnt love was the "redemption" for the friend and the girl.

I can see why ppl have their issues with it but I'm a bit believer in complex characters make for a very interesting show and I rlly think that show did that, I rlly liked exploring the characters and I think it was really interesting having a lead like jaewon that's so flawed in many ways. It also felt like a very realistic portrayal of trauma and depression, at least from my experience. I also think this show has a lot of things that are implied, instead of showing them on screen. I personally think it's inferred there was some kind of conversation about everything in between the last episode and the beginning of this one, since we jump from the kiss outside to then cuddling which is a bit later, I assume there was at least a bit of conversation lol. All this to say, I think this show lets you assume a lot about what goes on in between scenes, and things like characters motivations and thrones. I definitely think this style of storytelling is not for everyone, some ppl need to see that on screen which is fine

2025-03-06 17:37:03 +0000 UTCI liked the series too, but I fear this suffers quite a bit from what I've found a common thing among KBLs - lack of budget / funding / backing from a major network that a K-drama has, which resulted in less episodes and less runtime for fleshing out Jaewon's and Jihyun's backstories. Obviously I think they're very cute and I love how intimately shot almost all of their scenes were (whether they were angsty, romantic, etc.), so them as a couple feels earned and not forced, but I agree, I would've loved to see more of Jaewon's relationship with his brother, Jihyun's family life to contrast with how "complex" Seoul life seems to be, etc.

But it was still good, and I loved how they filmed things. I can understand why it's many peoples favourite. He deffo is more forgiving of his friends than I'd be! Thank you for continuing with this series, looking forward to watching along with any ones you pick to watch in future!
