Dinnertime! The Biggest Paralives Food Update so Far

Léa here to bring you a freshly baked update with all the food that has been added to the game recently. Sit down, it’s time for me to spill the tea ☕
As some of you might already know, creating food for Paralives is one of our favorite things to do. It’s fun, it involves staring at yummy pictures all day, and let’s be honest: it’s food.
Ready your napkins and let’s go! 🍝

Not to Be Cheesy, but They Are My Favorite: Pizzas!
When time is short, you might just want a simple snack, or to get takeout.
We already showed you the first pizza in our last update but have been creating variations of it to give our Parafolks some variety. After all, not everyone wants a Margherita every time. Ordering would take too long? I added frozen versions. Is it as good? No, but it’s cheaper!
In order from the top left to the bottom right: ham and cheese, 4 cheeses, ham and pineapple (I know, I’m sorry. I’m just doing my job, don’t come after me) and pepperoni. Next, we have the frozen pizzas, with cheese, ham and cheese, and pepperoni.
Bready, Set, Go! Sandwiches and Bread-Oriented Meals
Hot or cold, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s made with love.
A vegetarian version of the club sandwich from this post, and two triangle sandwiches: ham and cheese, and egg.

Burgers have a special place in my heart. Chloé created 4 versions of the cheeseburgers: classic, vegetarian, frozen, and frozen vegetarian.
You’re not the burger type? May we interest you in some delicious hot dogs? Chloé cooked us some yummy barbecue hot dogs, a vegetarian alternative, AND a microwave version for both because not everyone is a grill master.
Is It Fry’yay Yet?? 🍟
Chloé was dedicated to creating beautiful fries for our Parafolks. We are not joking with potatoes here in Montréal.

Not a fan of bread with your burger? Chloé added two versions of the Hamburg steak, classic and vegetarian 🥦
Maybe you want something fancier? I prepared a scandalous filet mignon with asparagus and a gratin dauphinois. ✨
Pastas and Noodles Time!
We showed you our bolognese spaghetti in our first post about food, but I’ve been creating a lot of variations since.
Left to right: Alfredo, Carbonara, mushroom, pesto, and tomato. Creating variations of the same texture allows us to create more recipes while reducing our production time.
Zaru soba is for those who want something good and simple. No time for cooking? Chloé added the legendary cup ramen.
I Hope We Will Be Able to Wash the Rice Before Cooking it
Rice, like pasta, has many mouth-watering recipes, and Chloé added many of them to the game!

According to doctors, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I created 3 new breakfast options:
The timeless pancakes, the Japanese fluffy version, and a romantic heart waffle 💕
Chloé baked us some muffins! Banana, chocolate, blueberry, and chocolate chip. She also added those beautiful croissants! (also called Quacksons by Tom Holland)
May I interest you in some cakes? Carrot, chocolate, vanilla with sprinkles, classic cheesecake, and finally red berries cheesecake.
And that’s it for today. You may have noticed that our menu tends to be occidental, but don’t worry more recipes from around the world will be added in the future.
I hope you like it as much as we do. Both Chloé and I will make sure that your Parafolks can indulge in amazing food whenever they want to.

Cooking in games has always been one of my favorites so to see this & to have Parafolk have many options is just so nice! One thing I’d request is EGGNOG✨ for the holidays. It looks like sauce but there are red dots, a red line and the texture of a paper... I think this thing needs improvements. But overall everything looks yummy and is really pleasant to watch :)

Makes me wanna learn blender so I can whip up any faves that don't make it in down the track haha. Food can make up a large part of a character and town's identity, looking forward to seeing what else is on the menu :)

2024-01-13 12:19:32 +0000 UTCI don't see how this would be a problem. Similar to the mod that was made by Carl's Guide for TS4 that allows your sims to gain weight, it is a simple toggle on and off. So if they implement it they can just add a tick in the gameplay settings panel where you select it on or off. Personally, after installing that mod for TS4 my game feels a lot more alive and real. So by having the toggle on/off it allows players who want it on to enjoy that mechanic and those who find it tedious or struggle with food as you mention can just turn it off.

Sometime in the future I would love to see y'all's take on the classic TV dinner in the plastic tray, but honestly I think i could look at anything in this art style and be happy!

Another idea is to be able to create your own cook book if you’re high enough in a cooking level. I would appreciate adding the ability to make popcorn! It’s such a great snack for watching movies and spending time with the close ones.

It's very interesting because subtly, you're introducing the concept of cooking in these posts. We now have frozen food, fried food, stir-fried food, baked food... I can't wait to see how exactly it all works out with cooking animations, and how different recipes will maybe don't look exactly alike. (quick note : who eats their rice on a plate ? I eat mine in bowls !) It was also very cool to see jollof rice be added to the basegame so early in the process. I can't wait to see much, much more ! In That Other Game™ I have started using mods recently, and a good 80% of them are food related :P So there will never be too many options in my eyes. My only regret is that some of these screenshots are taken from a bit of a distance, and it's sometimes hard to tell some dishes apart. Two of the frozen pizzas, for instance, look very similar, even though I can sort of see the ham. The rices also suffer a bit from that. But maybe that's for the best because it's waaaaay too early to eat here, and I can't be hungry all afternoon :P

I've forgotten: has it been revealed yet whether cooking/baking is ingredient-based or do paras just buy generic 'groceries' and they can make whatever they want? And have all the kitchen appliances already been created? I'd love to see an airfryer as well, in addition to the mentioned microwave, barbecue and oven. Could probably make lots of the food from this post in the airfryer.

After that, it's possible that we will make it so if you eat a meal while you were not hungry at all, you will gain weight
