This week, we can finally introduce you to Alice, a new 3D Animator on the Paralives team! She's very talented and we're all so excited to have her with us! She's gonna work on all the character animations in the game. We wanted to introduce Alice to the Patrons first, we will make this post public next week. Here's a little something she wrote to introduce herself:
Hi there! :)
I am so happy to be a part of this incredible adventure that is Paralives, there is honestly not another project I'd like to work on more than this one.
I've always been (like everyone on the team) a huge fan of simulation games, I started very young playing the first sims games and since then I bought EVERY single expansion. It was a really big part of me growing up and what started my interest for other games.
I am also a lot into indie games (Stardew Valley, Kynseed, Night in the Woods...), building games (Parkitect, Planet Zoo...) but also point and clicks (Oxenfree, Broken Age, Deponia.. and special mention to the old ones <3).
Well you get it I like video games!
More on the personal/job side, as far as I can remember I always knew that I wanted to be a 3D animator. The first Toy Story was really a big turning point for me, I immediately knew that I wanted to give life to characters and tell stories.
This is why I went to an Art school. After graduation I worked in various fields: TV series, video games, movies... And loved it every single day. My goal for Paralives is to be able to bring fluid realistic animations that will help the players to immerse themselves in the game, but also ones that will make you love the Parafolks and help define their personalities.
I am really looking forward to contribute to create a very lively world, with complex social interactions, fun and colorful NPCs! I feel so lucky to now be a part of this journey, I love the fact that everyone is so creative and come up everyday with new amazing ideas for the game, always trying to incorporate as much as possible from the community ideas.
I can't wait to see how Paralives will grow and evolve, and I'm sure you do too.

Sebastian Update
In other news, Sebastian, a new male Para that the Patrons designed together, is preparing to move in! He still has some work to do in the new house but we're looking forward to introduce Sebastian to you once he has settled in and has some free time! Please keep this info and screenshot secret for now :)

Excited to see how your personal touches add to the project, as a whole. ■ Picture: I wonder if art can be added to the freezer like a pin board sort of thing. Like you add it to the fridge and it just shows up on the outside of fridge, randomly, or do you actually have to add it to the outside of the fridge, so it sort of floats in front of the fridge doors, precisely were you personally placed it. Either way ...pretty INTERESTING... 💚

2020-07-17 17:05:41 +0000 UTCCool! I notice a few awesome things here: 1. Dishes exist apart from food. 2. Parafolks' items are in boxes when they move in. 3. Parafolks can take their shoes off. 4. Magnets are a thing. And not just a thing, but a functional thing that can be used to hold up pictures. 5. The drawing might give us a little hint at what Sebastian and his kid look like. And I realize a tiny detail that I hope for: 1. That the freezer is functional and food can be stored there to be cooked later (or if it's ice cream, which should stay in the freezer)
