Unfortunately I missed The reddit AMA 😩. I know that the Base game will have a Teen rating, however, I wonder if the team has considered adding a pack in the future that would be rated M to add elements to the game that wouldn’t pass under a Teen rating? Nothing too explicit lol but just more adult humor, and interactions (flirtatious dancing, fun Bachelor and bachelorette parties, etc) that will appeal to their adult audience more.

i think she looks great! just a couple things are that i think the black outlines around objects make the graphics look lower quality than when maggie’s room was first shown, maybe the black outline should only come up when you select that object or para?

Maggie looks amazing! My suggestion is to maybe match her graphics more to the lighting and shadows of her surroundings. I'm also not a huge fan of the dark outlines of her and other objects that I can see, but I'm sure everything will grow on me. The game looks amazing guys!

I really like the look of Maggie! For some reason, I was thinking they'd look like the Planet Coaster characters, and I'm really glad that this is what they turned out to be. I feel there's a lot of potential for creativity with them! I'm super excited about the video. Keep up the amazing work! :)

Hi, I like her and it is amazing what you folk has shown us form this game in development. So don't get me wrong, i hope and have not really doubt, that the game will by grade and realistic as possible. I have just upgraded my Patreon form 5 to 10. But Maggie just seems not to add up right for me aye jet. If I compare her legs on the Image with the yellow dress to the large Cub in the left bottom corner, which has a clear 3D look, her leg feels flatt, like the light might not play right with her, this let her look comic like to me and doesn't fit in this real cool loft. Nonetheless, I wait for the public video today.

I have to remind myself this game is in EARLY development. I was underwhelmed by this but that reminder perked me up. I hope we get to see updated versions of her as the game develops; as we did for the houses/objects. Great job team! I'm still so excited for this game!

And I have to say the Create New Outfit feature has me super happy because I’m assuming the clothes won’t be separated by outfit filters, so if for some wacky reason, I could put my para in a ballgown and name it swimwear 😂 I love it. I really like the freckles on her shoulders and the blush on her knees. I’m not necessarily in the 3D realism camp, but details like those bridge the gap between comic styles like Kudos 2 and some of the disconcerting styles of realism we might see in other games. Agreed with the difference in the lighting of the room (like in her apartment reveal) versus on her skin (and in the room in general if I’m seeing this correctly) seems like a stark contrast. Hopefully in the video tomorrow you’ll let us see the Paras in outdoor, indoor and the creation screen as well as during different times of day to give us an impression of how they fit into the world. I’m also really curious about the hair! It looks really awesome here, not focused on individual strands (like in previous videos) although if it were I’d still be into it. It would be great to see a para model a variety of hair lengths, texture, and colors tomorrow.

I didn't know what to expect, but I really like it!! She's super cute and a nice mix between realism and that comic book-look. Here's my feedback: compared to her surroundings she's a little flat in detail and shading, her chest looks a bit off and wide without a cleavage line, her thighs are quite long but her shins look super short and in comparison to her shoulder/body proportions her hands look really tiny. It could just be the angle, or maybe if you guys have body slider customization for her but otherwise it looks great!

guys this morning (well 5 hours before the reveal) they where on 10k and look! its getting higher by the second! i started a month ago and they where on 5k. Damn. Go Para Squad!!!

I really like the design and it fits with the game and so proud of the games progress! I did have a few constructive comments though, I would love to see more shadows and shading on her lower body half specifically the legs they appear a bit too flat, and the clothing too. I’d lighten up the blush just a little bit, because it kind of takes away from the design and definition of her nose. I like her skin tone and the variation of shading on her face from her forehead to her chin. Just a suggestion maybe adding in a cleavage line for her chest, I know she’s an athlete of roller derby but athletic women still have cleavage lines too just not as pronounced:) I love the look of the clothing and her dr.marten shoes, I was really excited for the clothing reveal today haha 😊 and im also very excited with the fact that we can add and create our own specific outfit looks and title them accordingly too! Instead of set categories I can now add in a ‘lounge wear’ ‘date night’ ‘little black dress’ ‘lunch with the girls’ sections lol. Overall the first picture shows her in her environment very nicely! And she doesn’t feel out of place I think the only thing that makes her seem comic-bookish as others mentioned. are the darker outlines but I’m not worried about that because this is her very first appearance and there’s so much more time and room for modifications for these cosmetic fixes. Great job dev team and can’t wait for tomorrow video! :)

Maggie reminds me of how the characters of spider man into the spider-verse look like. And its honetly cool, it just needs a little more polish and done. I cant wait for tomorrow and see more. For a work-in-progress she looks great. I agree with with Emily though, she doesn't really fit in with the rest of what we've seen at this point, much too 2-D. I'm also hoping we'll be able to tweak body proportions on individual paras we create, shoulders, waists, hips, calves, etc.

At first she looked a little weird, but she's growing on me. I think it's because I've been playing Sims games since 2014 and I had a certain image in my head of what Maggie would look like. But I really like her now! I zoomed in really close and I think I can see some freckles on her shoulders?? Or maybe that's just pixelation lol. Either way, I'm excited.

Pros: I love the proportions, and the eyes are *perfect*. The details like her painted nails, face and shoulder freckles are great. And I like that the clothes don't feel painted on - they look really nice and I like that you can create your own outfits as opposed to having to use presets. Cons: I agree with some of the other commenters - the skin needs some shaders and more definition. The skin texture just looks a *little* flat compared to the objects. And I personally am not a fan of the black outlining - hopefully that can be toggled on and off. But both cons is really just because of my personal preferences. Objectively, she looks great considering this is currently a team of four in the early goings, and even if nothing changes graphics wise (and again, everything looks great already!), gameplay is still king in my eyes. Excited for the video!

I am so excited, but I have a bit of constructive criticism. Although Maggie looks great for the first reveal, she doesn't really fit the animation style of the other objects in the game and so, she looks a bit out of place. I'm sure the parafolks will look great by the final game launch though!

She's absolutely beautiful! I have a question though...would you give an albino light skintone in paralives? I always struggled with finding it in other games and had to use custom content. I really love how they look personally. I think for anyone else who isn't sold on it yet it's important to keep in mind that the game is still early in development and the parafolk will almost certainly change as time goes on. I think this is a great starting point.

I love how you can make your own outfits, I find it annoying having to make a hot and cold outfit along with swim,sleep,everyday,formal,party it's just alot of work. It'd be nice to have an everyday when you first make a character instead of having to do all the outfits! So far I think she looks great.

Was personally hoping for a bit of a more realistic take but this won't break the game for me as long as parafolk continue to be refined. I'm not a fan of the black outlines recently added to everything. It gives the game a 2D feel that sort of takes me out of the illusion. Also would like to see more detail and shading on the parafolks skin as it indeed looks a little flat as I saw mentioned. The sun streaming through the window would look great reflecting off of her skin. The clothing models look great however! They have nice shading dimensions and don't seem "painted onto" the skin which I like! And of course, Maggie is a beautifully designed Para even if I'm not 100% sold on the current art design of the Para. Her proportions are everything! So refreshing to finally see a life sim character who is not unrealistically thin or alien looking in their proportions. My only real complaint is the flat look to her skin and the lack of interaction with the lighting. I believe in this team to make an amazing life sim and can't wait to see the end result! Honestly. I love the aesthetic! If I could make one suggestion though, I feel she should have a little more definition. Not so much in the textures/model. But with lighting, and perhaps normal and specular maps to really make her "pop". She's currently looking a little "flat" in comparison with the scenary.

I like her outfit though I think her dress is ill-fitting at the chest level. Like other I've said, it would be nice if there wasn't such a sharp outline to her body. Adding more realistic shadows to her face and body would help to make her look more realistic. Moreover, I think it would be nice if the reddish effect on her skin could be optional. Lastly, I would really like to see more detailed lips and knees if possible. Thank you for your hard work!:)

The model looks great, I really like that, I just think that the textures are a little flat, like it misses a little shading around the nose and stuff and the (cell) shader around the objects and the character doesn't really help with making it look more 3D. but I guess that can still change as it's still early in development. But so far it's looking really good!

I would disagree, I think she seems proportional and more realistic. I think most games give women really long legs (barbie legs!) and this seems like a better representation of an average woman to me.

I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I personally really like how cartoony it is. It was confirmed that Parafolk would be cartoony with realistic features, but since cartoony a board style, it was still hard to imagine what the devs would come up with. I actually like the 2D style it's very different which is what I want. I don't want Paralives to look like another game. I want it to be unique and set itself apart and not seem like an imitation. So I'm very happy with the style they chose. However, I'm not sure if its because I can't see her face too well in just a picture but it looks like her features, specifically her nose could be more detailed. I'm sure it's still a work in progress and they just had enough done right now to confidently show us. Plus showing us more of the development process definitely helps them get more support. They raised over $1k in about an hour! That's amazing! I'm very proud of this team and the progress they have made. I'm happy to be able to support them and excited to see more!

I personally love the aesthetics, I hope their faces will be easily customisable. And I'm really happy about the new tiers as they will help to speed up the development. Unfortunately I cannot pledge more at the moment (my job situation isn't great due to coronavirus) but I will, when it stabilises. Because I really believe in this project! :)

Almost all the 'dimension' is just shaded in, so I think this is truly a sneak peak and we won't see the real real Maggie until tomorrow..maybe to prevent leaks?? I love it! I didn't know what to expect from the folk designs but this is better than I imagined. I love the drawing-esque aesthetic and can't wait to see how she moves and interacts with the environment, and how light and shadows interact with her.

It may be that your mind is competing with the aesthetic of the background/environment and the character. For me, the character looks nice but she doesn't feel like she belongs in the environment. I think is the outlines and the lack of shaders and lighting from the environment which makes her feel too comic-like while the background looks more realistic and 3D.

Ok I was scared for a minute, sadly I really can't afford to increase a my monthly contribution so if you had actually raised it for existing Patrons, I would have had to cancel. If I'm honest I'm not absolutely in love with Maggie as she appears here ; there's something about her face (maybe the nose ? I can't quite place where my issue comes from) that doesn't do it for me. And her proportions, in particular regarding the arms, look odd (and yet, again I can't pinpoint the issue, elbows and wrists are located where they should be ; and ironically in the pic where she's seen from the back, she looks normal). Nonetheless I like that feeling of having a character that feels grounded, and at the same time has a cartoon-y flavor to it ; I think that's a good compromise and I'm not surprised you ended up on this design. She has a 2D quality to her in a game that's very obviously 3D, and I kinda dig. Plus, I'm sure over time, just like the buildings' design has already evolved (in particular thanks to lighting), Parafolks will organically evolve until we can finally play with them, so I'm not worried about the adjustments that are going to happen. Also, please, Maggie, if you're gonna wear something so low cut, wear some sort of bra maybe ? :P

I love her realistic proportions! And how the clothes fits very realistically on her body, it makes her feel so alive. She looks very harmonious in a way, like a living, breathing person. I'm more apprehensive about the cartoonish look, those black outer lines makes her almost look 2D? It makes it a bit difficult to imagine them with an in-depth personality, doing stuff. But I'm sure it's largely a matter about getting used to it, since the only reference for many is the sims (and I love that this is different). As long as they are actually 3D, and they have in-depth personalities that makes for immersive gameplay, I think that this all in all looks very promising! And again, I think her proportions are absolutely brilliant.

I really like it, it’s not what I expected, yet perfectly fits the style of the game. Personally I think the skin is a little too flat in terms of colour, but I think I would get used to this style very quickly. I am excited to play this game when it comes out, it looks so cool!

And the amazing thing is, how I see it, is if she was too ‘realistic’ then we wouldn’t necessarily get great gameplay, the game would break and Parafolk may get stuck like in games we have had previously. I actually love the look of the character! It's unique and this seems like the push it needed to separate it from the Sims franchise. Also, to those who dislike it, keep in mind this game is still in early creation and there are many more things to come and be updated! So what we see now may not even look like her once the game comes out! I tend to be someone who prefers what some might call “uncanny valley” graphics, so I might not be the target demographics for Maggie’s art style. I remain hopeful though that her style will continue to become more detailed, similar to the art style of her surroundings (I love the look of the loft and all of the detail work of the brick and sunlight/shadows). Regardless, I will continue to support this game as a patron, as I feel like the simulation genre is in desperate need of more representation and competition, especially from people like you and your team who truly put your heart and soul into the work.

I like her body shape, clothes, and hair and I know this is still early dev. but I don't like the outlines of her body. It looks too 2D and feels like she doesn't belong in that environment. The character design is certainly not what I imagined it to be, but what a pleasant surprise! I really enjoy this cartoony, somewhat 2D-ish visual! I think she blends well with the surroundings. I cannot wait to see how the paras interact with the objects. Will they have a continued animation like sims? For example, will they walk toward the bunk bed, climb the ladders, and lie down? Or will they pop-up on to the bed and sleep? I know it's too early to ask about the animations, but I just wanted to know, if possible, what level of detailed interaction you guys are planning to make for the animations :) As always thank you for your hard work!

She looks like a 2D character made in illustrator. I hate being negative but I had to notice it. I think the (dark )line around her and the lines on her arm make it looks like 2D drawing. I think you should put shadows instead of lines. But I guess it is still to early to tell anything about the it as it will improve. Anyway, thank you guys for the great work and I am 100% with you.

Oh my gosh! I am in AWE! I stared at each of these pictures for at least three minutes lol. I love her, I love the design! I love how (at least to me) it looks like she's thinking about something funny! A mostly neutral expression, but not quite "staring into the abyss." I also love how she has freckles, which appear to be all over her body!!?!?!?! At least, I can definitely see them on her shoulders... the image gets too blurry as I zoom in more. ALSO... Its kind of hard to explain in clear terms, but she looks like a cartoon from a mobile game. While the video of the apartment almost looked photo realistic. I am open about the art style, but this just reminds me of a mobile dressup doll game character my 6 year old daughter plays.

I LOVE the art style of the game/environment, and I LOVE the art style of the Parafolk, but there’s something that isn’t gelling with me... like someone else said, she looks too cartoony in a hyper-realistic environment. She looks like she’d be PERFECT in the original game style, but since the style and graphics were updated, she’s looking quite flat; almost like a character from another game photoshopped into another games environment. Please don’t take this as negative feedback; it’s not intended that way - like I said, I genuinely love both art styles, just separately. I also understand that this is still very early development and things can and no doubt will change before release. Also, glad you finally got the tier list updated! I’ll have to see about bumping myself up a tier! I’m in this with you guys for the long haul, excited to continue seeing how the game grows and develops!

I'm the kind of player where if I can't see myself in my character (mostly in personality/skills, but looks are a factor too) then I am much more likely to lose interest quickly. The texture of the dress and the shirt/jeans combo looks different, hope that means there are different kinds of "fabric" in the game. In the dress pic you can see the outfit options; does that mean she can change outfits in the game/her current location or does the piece of furniture behind her contain her clothes? Great idea on the new tiers (was that Christine's?) and rewards, I think the transparency about set goals will help convine those who aren't sure yet about donating.

Well, I personally expected something more stylized. In my opinion her neck and shoulders are slightly strange shaped and the shading on the skin is somewhat creepy. However the clothing and accessories are lovely, the way they suit the model is also a great addition. I still have questions: will you be able to adjust head shape/size, and will there be presets regarding the body and face? (I’m also considering that the fact I find her kind of creepy is because of her stiff pose)
