Yeah. R.I.P. Zaku and Kin :( I didn't know them well, but them being sacrificed like that really bothered me too. Also I think that vision was more metaphorical. The Hokage don't really pass on their title unless they're WAY out of their prime or know that they're going to die very soon. With the 1st and 2nd both standing there in their prime, Hiruzen wouldn't have been made Hokage yet because not even the 2nd would've been Hokage yet because the 1st was still in perfect shape/health. Also here's some non-spoiler food for thought using what we've seen and been told so far. This Reaper Death Seal. Hiruzen said the caster must sacrifice his own life to use it. It was taught to him by the 4th Hokage, who we know died while sealing away the Nine-Tailed Fox when it attacked the village. Now, when Hiruzen used it here, what was the symbol it formed on his stomach? xP And see? You got to see Shino vs Kankuro after all!
